The hotel was conveniently located for our travel plans, and we appreciated that it was pet-friendly, allowing us to bring our dog along. Everyone in our group slept well, and the room was clean. However, the room was quite dated—our fridge barely cooled, and the shower was missing water control knobs. The hallway door had a large gap at the bottom, which affected privacy and insulation. Be aware that there’s no elevator, so you'll need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Additionally, the entire hotel had a strong smell of cannabis, which was noticeable throughout our stay.

We loved our room and the staff were all excellent! Very friendly and eager to help. The hot water faucet knob in the bathtub was broken. It worked but it was hard to turn with no knob. Also we expected housekeeping to come in and replace the towels and empty the trash before the second night’s stay but we had to go to the desk and get clean towels. Other than those things the room and friendliness of the staff made up for it. We would stay there again.

The room was clean, renovations were excellent. A suggestion would be that because there wasn't a fitness center on the premises, that there could be a pass for Anytime Fitness across the street? Just a suggestion. Good choice.

This is our third time being at this hotel and the staff is always friendly and it is close to downtown but you don't have all the noise and activity of college. We were there on graduation weekend so we were expecting to more inconvenienced.

Pet Owners Beware: Rigid Policy and Cold Welcome

I recently stayed at Americas Best Value Inn in Marquette, booked through Hotels.com, and was disappointed by both the service and the overall experience. Although the hotel advertises itself as pet-friendly, the policy in practice is rigid and unaccommodating, with restrictions only disclosed at check-in. By the time I became aware of these conditions, it was too late to cancel or receive a refund, as the staff shifted responsibility to the third-party booking platform. With no flexibility offered, I was left with no choice but to leave my two dogs in the car during a night event at NMU—an option I now realize may have posed safety or legal concerns given the cold weather. The room also had basic issues, including a broken door lock and no heat upon arrival. If the hotel is unable to genuinely support guests traveling with pets, it would be more appropriate to remove the pet-friendly designation altogether. I encourage management to reassess both their policies and facility readiness to provide a more transparent and guest-oriented experience.

Good location. Easy to find. The rooms were clean, and nice and warm. The room door did not open directly to the outside, they open into an inside corridor. Nice breakfast options.
