There are 2 "sides" of this motel: (1) renovated and nice, and (2) VERY OLD and falling apart. All the photos on Travelocity are of the newly renovated side - and it is pure chance that you get one of those rooms. The room I was put into was old, smelly, the trim was falling off, the toilet didn't flush without holding down the handle for a good minute - and then, just barely, and the sink was plugged. The tile floor in the bathroom was super grimy and the carpet was filthy. We stayed two nights and saw no maid service, no fresh towels, no nothing. The staff at front desk was nice when I got there but shrugged when I told them the room they gave me wasn't the room I reserved. Avoid this motel unless you call them personally and can be assured that you get the remodeled section - not the section by the pool. Argh. It was terrible. I should have spent a bit more to stay at the Holiday Inn across the street. One more thing - a storm had taken out all of the parking lot lights. It was so dark I could hardly find the proper door when I arrived. I regret not taking pictures of all of this.

Very dirty in room, hallway and pool area. I cut my foot walking towards the hot tub. Sharp rocks or something metal around area. Hot water for drinks was cold. Had to turn thermostat up to 80 to feel 68 in room . Allergy attack from how dirty it was with dust that had to go too emergency room and local Walmart to get pills to help. Check in staff wasn't friendly and not helpful. Morning front desk gave attitude when I asked for hot cocoa and when I said hot water was cold. No clocks in rooms asked for a wake up call and it was an hour late.

Upon arrival, we had to walk in 3-4inches of snow. I get that it’s Upper Michigan, but at least keep a path shoveled. We were given our keys by a friendly staff member and upon entering our room, a guest was already inside. We went back, changed rooms and the bed looked like it had already been slept in. I chose to sleep on the fold out couch, which had a mattress beyond its life. My husband slept in the bed and said it was comfortable. Breakfast was minimal, 5 cereals, three types of mini muffins, oranges, orange juice, coffee and milk. The coffee was good. Morning staff didn’t acknowledge our presence at all. We went back to our room and I decided I wanted more coffee, the pot had the grounds still in it from a previous guest, made another pot and the coffee packets are clearly not for a 4 cup coffee maker. I put two in and the coffee was still too weak. We stayed in a suite room, I didn’t realize these were detached from the main motel, so we didn’t get a chance to use the pool, hot tub, or sauna as it was a pretty long walk in the snow in a bathing suit. The price was good. We stay in Marquette a few times a year and I would give them another chance.
