The room itself was nice, the bedding very upscale and comfortable. TV remote didn’t work but front desk replaced the batteries for us. The two big negatives were the water never got warm so showers were almost impossible. Plus, there is no sound proofing between floors. Woken up at 4:45 from the people above us with the walking around the room going on for hours. No sleep!

I'm a senior traveling with 3 other seniors. There was no elevator and we were placed on the second floor. They had rooms on the first floor but we were told because I had booked through Expedia and got a good rate. We would need to pay $50 -$60 more per room to stay on the first floor. Stairs to second floor were discussing. Bathroom floor was nasty. I showered with my sandals on. Breakfast was decent. I would not recommend this place. Linda

The rooms are renovated and clean—which is a big plus. The “Rustic Rooms” are nice—stylish rough-hewn wood decor. The grounds and exterior and surroundings are rather bleak. Pool is decent though it might help if they landscaped a bit, as surrounding parking lot isn’t pretty. Not trying very hard here. Breakfast is very limited. The option of cereal would have been fine, but they were out of milk. I asked about it, and the attendant said they “ran out yesterday.” (?) If they ran out they day before, that would give them plenty of time to buy some more, especially since there’s a supermarket two doors down. This is one of those low-end chain hotels where they simply do not try very hard or care very much. Fine to stay here if you get a good rate, but we had to pay high-season rates—and for that, we expected much better.

Nice hotel near the Badlands

updated hotel in Wall, SD, all hotels in town were older, so you are not going to find a hotel with all the modern bells and whistles but the Americas Best Value Inn was clean, the room was updated and it met our needs. The staff was friendly and made sure we felt welcomed.

Forced check out

The bathroom did not look anything like online. Check was listed as 11:00. We left our room at 7:30 to go eat breakfast onsite. We did pack our stuff but planned on going back to relax for a bit. I did not check out. When we got back the cleaning staff already started cleaning and we could no longer use the room. I went to talk to the front desk and was told it was my fault for not using a do not disturb sign. I have never had this happen before. I would think they would start cleaning once we actually came to check out. Plus the front desk woman was very rude. While I do plan on coming back to the area, I will not come back to this hotel.
