Upon checking in, our room smelt solidly of must and mildew. The carpeting to the floor, beginning at the under window AC unit to nearly midway between the two queen beds was so soaking wet from the leaking AC that the water puddled and squished if you accidentally walked on it. This caused us a great inconvenience getting ready for an important beauty pageant due to the lack of use of the room to avoid stepping in the water. Prior to getting in bed, my family and I checked the bed linens and beneath the mattress or any signs of inadequate cleaning or bugs. Underneath one of the mattresses we found what obviously appears to be an attempt at cleaning large bloody stains from the bottom of the mattress. I am a seasoned nurse and can easily identify the attempt of cleaning blood from fabrics due to having to do so multiple times in my career. The desk staff was informed of our complaints and concerns. They informed us they would refund us for our two night stay as they had no maintenance man for the property and no other available rooms. They were very understanding and receptive of our room complaints, but unfortunately could not help us find other accommodations.
Dirty (blood stained?) mattress that was obviously flipped over in an attempt to conceal the stains.

Hard pass on this one for the price

Hotel is newer but not taken care off. Rooms had an off smell. Carpets dirty, baseboards nasty, bathroom door had been chewed by a dog, sink had a long crack in it. Fair price for a one night stay facility was not worth the price. Contintal breakfast raw bacon, biscuits were still partially frozen, eggs looked like 3 day old leftovers. Hot water container was maybe tap water warm to start. Laquinta prices with Red Roof Inn or Motel 6 quality facility.

The rooms smelled musty, something was leaking outside our room because we noticed a very wet area on the carpet, housekeeping took our towels but didn't leave any new ones when. we needed them, some of the employees were helpful and kind, but there was a lot to be desired in light of the condition of the hotel and the rooms.

Parking was safe. Check in was easy. But room was VERY outdated. Hallway and room had a strong pungent odor where you can tell the room hadn’t been aired out in months. Not thoroughly clean, like maybe they made sure hair and other obvious things were in the clear but thoroughly clean? Not even close. I even had to dust where the tv sits.

It was difficult to get clean towels and when we did the front desk person asked me to wait at the front desk for the towels. After waiting for 15 minutes I gave up only to find that the towels had already been delivered to the room. The fitness room didn’t have any working equipment.

La Quinta by Wyndham – Vicksburg Stayed Thursday through Saturday. I chose this hotel because it’s pet-friendly and allows up to two small dogs. They were very accommodating, and there’s a good amount of outdoor space to walk the dogs. I didn’t try the complimentary breakfast due to my schedule, but check-in was smooth. The only issue was on Thursday night — there was no hot water even after running it for over 10 minutes. I reported it in person to the front desk but was simply told to “run it longer,” which wasn’t the response I expected. Thankfully, there were no hot water problems the rest of the stay. Housekeeping did knock on Friday morning despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign, which was a little inconvenient. I booked through Hotels.com and saved about $120 compared to the hotel’s direct rate. Location-wise, it’s close to plenty of dining options and has easy access to the interstate. Overall, I was pleased with the stay — a few hiccups, but a good value and pet-friendly option in Vicksburg.

Bed bugs. Need I say more. My daughters have bites all on their legs, arms and the side of their hands. I found a dead one under our mattress. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was okayish. But bedbugs. A car detail and all of our belongings now have to go to a laundry mat and dry in high heat before we can even go home.

Disappointing

I was checked into a room only to find out that it smelled really bad. They gave me a different room, but then I found out the TV didn't work. By this time I was too frustrated and tired after a long day of driving to deal with it. The furnishings in the room were outdated. The furniture was in bad shape. The whole place was in need a new paint and refinishing work. I was not impressed and will not stay there again.
