Amsterdam Hotel
"The decor is pretty dated, but the place was clean and well maintained. The value was fantastic—it was a couple hundred dollars per night less than other properties nearby and is walking distance (about 24 minutes) from the Amtrak station, with some nice dining (e.g., Puerta Vallarta) on the way. The continental breakfast wasn’t the best, but it had some bananas, Raisin Bran and milk and waffles and toast. A staffer replaced the milk quickly when it ran out and someone went to the front desk. The window in our room seemed to be letting a bit of air in, which we only noticed in the morning, but it wasn’t that cold out luckily and I wasn’t cold, but my girlfriend was. The hotel was walking distance to a few diners, which we didn’t explore because of bad weather and being pressed for time. My girlfriend was mad that I cheaped out by staying here, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat, due to the deep value. She will not join me but that’s fine."
