Cradled in the Copper Mountain and on the border of Joshua Tree and 29 Palms is Hartsville. Hartsville is located on a cul-de-sac up on a hill with AMAZING VIEWS of the desert valley and the city lights below. Private 5 acres of land with plenty of room to hike and explore - BLM surrounds land on mountain. Inside - enjoy a game of pool, darts, books, games in the air conditioned house. Outside - private, serene and secluded. Relax and chill from the hustle of city life.

At night, it's a celestial paradise. Stargaze while the winds soothe you. Close to either entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and close to all the happenings 29 Palms and JT has to offer.

Hartsville is up a 2 mile dirt road off Hwy 62. Some bumpy driving - but once you get there, it is well worth it! The BEST places are off a dirt road on a hill.

Hartsville was a great place to stay while I explored the park. It had great views, a lot of space and was very comfortable. Very well decorated and stocked with everything I needed. Hosts were very accomodating.Thank You!

The property was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. I really loved almost everything about it. However it is listed as a two bedroom and I feel that is misleading. It is a studio house. The is a master bed with curtains separating it from the living room where there is a pull out couch. I wish it was made a little clearer in the description because it made for an awkward night between my parents, I and my boyfriend having to share that space.

Eclectic House

The house is clean, and provides a fun reprieve from the desert. When beed a break from exploring and the sun, enjoy pool/darts and a great record collection. It is a bit no frills, but comfortable and star gazing by the fire was great!

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Hartsville! This eclectic cabin retreat is so cool. The decor has all the right vibes and the added touches like body soap, shampoo, bottled water and light snacks was a nice touch! The property and views were out of this world! Mireille was wonderful to communicate with! She was so responsive and helpful. We would definitely love to stay again!!

My son and I just wanted a night away - to spend time together and to check out the stars and planets with his new telescope. Hartsville did NOT disappoint! We had so much fun and literally ran out of time with all the great things in store. I felt like I was zapped back in time to the 1970's (or further!). The location was easy to find, safe to park and gain access, and from the get-go we simply enjoyed ourselves. We played pool - 8-ball and 9-ball, sifted through and played the many LP's from yesteryear. When the time was right we viewed the night sky on a moonless night. I haven't seen stars like that since our move from Michigan 8 years ago. Thank you to our wonderful hosts - allowing me to spend time with my son, and not have a worry in the world. We will be back. Guaranteed.PS - the star photos were taken w tripod, Canon DSLR and longer exposure (30 sec) and near full F-stop settings. The telescope was a 10” mirror celestron not set yet for photography but the views of nebula and other faraway places magnificent.

We had a wonderful stay. Love the location. Easy to get to, but still had privacy and great views. Thank you for the warm welcome. I felt very at home and we will definitely be back again! PS: My daughter had her fill of candy from the machine but left several pennies for the next person:)
