Room was excellent, and staff were very helpful when there were minor items that needed attention. Food in both the pub and dining room was excellent! Wife is Celiac and there are lots of options for her, and the kitchen was able to adjust to her needs. We stayed 3 days/nights and ate all breakfasts (included and to-order not buffet) and 2 dinners, and wife had zero problems. Highly recommend for quality and amenities, plus only minutes to Picton and easy drive to wineries and Sandbanks.
It has charm but is dated and needs some work to make it shine again.

Loved the plush bed and hot tub! Chairs in the adjoining room were very comfy. And our deck backed out onto a field- so we got to see fireflies at dusk and stars at night without having to drive anywhere. Having a restaurant on the property that we could walk to was also really helpful and the included breakfast the next morning was excellent. Excellent! I would stay here again.
The rooms are quite spacious and well appointed. The robes were tres comfortable. Very positive first impression. Would recommend

I reserved a room with a King bed but was given one with a Queen. The front desk blamed it on Expedia but the receipt clearly indicated King. They would not change rooms or offer a discount. The best aspects of Waring House are the breakfast, cleanliness, and reasonable prices.

Convenient location, nice restaurants and live music. However the property is run down and needs maintenance. Room where we stayed need updating.
This was our second stay and I don’t think we’ll stay again. The included breakfast is always good but the inn is a little tired, as are the pub and dining room. We had a very disappointing meal in the restaurant. Next time we’ll try somewhere else.
We have been to the Waringhouse a few years ago. Needs some updating but otherwise clean and comfortable bed. Pub was fun and Heather our morning server was very accommodating breakfast had great choices and was filling

The Waring House is a convenient location to everything in the County. The grounds are lovely and there is plenty of parking available. The included breakfast was good and a nice inclusion. However, the rooms are dated, the bathroom was a strange design with a small pre-fabricated shower in an otherwise large bathroom. The bathroom even had a large soaking tub. The shower specifically should be renovated. The hotel would have been better served to have a combination tub / shower to allow for more room. Anyone with a disability or required assistance would have difficulty with the bathroom.
The dining staff at breakfast worked hard and were kind and friendly. Unfortunately, the kitchen did not order enough food to manage the number of guests staying at the hotel. They had run out of several staples (bread, cream, ham) even before we sat down at 9:30 am!
I would come back to this property for the right price. But if you are expecting luxury, this is not the establishment for you. It is good for a few days stay and is close to Picton / Bloomfield and Wellington towns.
