The grounds are amazing- great walking trails and amenities. Highly recommend a horse back ride- we took the sunset ride and it was amazing. I loves waking up in the morning and sitting out on my porch and listening to the animals and watching the sun rise over the Catalina Mountains. Staff is friendly and super helpful. will go back again and again!

Shoulda woulda coulda. But just isn’t. Grounds are nice enough. But rooms feel dated. Went for morning swim and found towels and trash lying around from night before. And no fresh towels. Easily an hour before one pool area was cleaned. Rooms are clean enough. But had to ask for stock to be refreshed. And our balcony was never hosed down. Bird poop is just not pleasant.

Thank you for your review Jay. It is unfortunate that you experienced less than an exceptional stay. Even on busy holiday weekends, our team works hard to keep the property fresh and guests happy. We are disappointed to learn we fell short for you. We hope you return to give the resort another try on your next visit to Tucson.

Tennis courts need work

Love the grounds here. Amazing plants, trees, cacti. Rooms and tennis courts a little tired.

This hotel is run down

We stayed at this hotel two nights ago. And we checked in the front desk staff immediately informed us that two of the pools were close for the day. When we arrived in our room, I went to take a shower only to find that there was no hot water. We were in a hurry so I just decided to take a cold shower. We called maintenance and they were up right away however I had just gotten out of the shower and found that there was no bathrobe in the room. So, I had to get dressed so he could come in and check out the shower. Turns out, the hot water did work however it takes about 20 minutes to get hot. Very disappointing and did not enjoy my cold shower at all. The room was very mediocre. We did find a towel covered with make up going up in the room as though it was clean. The maintenance man that checked out the shower informed us that the room has been rented out in about a month. If our complaint about the shower had been handled better it's possible that we would stay there again but it wasn't handled very well and we would not recommend this place.

Pleasant, but nothing special.

Pros: Safe, nice looking, convenient location for my trip.
Cons: Brochures claim a fancy balcony with a scenic view. We had a front porch overlooking a pool full of kids. Misleading.
Location: Relatively isolated. Not much within 3 miles.
My wife and I stayed one night in April, 2016. We were tourists in Tucson and it worked OK for that - but then so would many other places. This is less a tourist (us) hotel and more a weekend getaway place. Good restaurant, but plan $15+ for anything. Staff was efficient and polite.

What the other reviews said was true

The Westward Look is a lovely resort in a beautiful setting. I would rate this aspect as excellent. The grounds, tennis courts, pools, fitness center, walking paths, outdoor seating areas were excellent if not spectacular. I only ate breakfast at the resort (3 times), and the service was good, the food delicious. The resort has its own garden, and that was obvious in the omelet. There are also ice and fruit-filled water pitchers in the lobby, and this was very refreshing--they were always full, and I was there for 4 days. As for service, I arrived at 9 p.m., never having been to the resort before. It is extremely dark outside of the main lobby area; with approximately 25 buildings--the resort is set out in villas--I had to try to negotiate the turns in the parking lot and find my room tucked in the back. This was challenging. The couple before me had been offered an escort to find the room--I had no offer. The room was spacious, but as others have said, the furnishings are dated, and all the surfaces--tables, desk--had massive scratch marks on them. The bed, however, was wonderful. The housekeeping service was good, and everything was always fully stocked in the bathroom. I used the spa one afternoon, and it was 5 star--highly recommended, and as a guest, I received a discount on services. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and would go back again. The backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mts. would be hard to match.
