Clean Home, Poor Communication – Full Deposit Lost Over Pet
We chose this property because it was listed as pet-friendly and brought along our small, five-pound dog. Nowhere on the listing did it say we had to notify the host in advance about bringing a pet, so we didn’t think it was necessary. Unfortunately, after our stay, we were charged the full 350 deposit without warning.The host claimed there was a pet urine spot on the carpet that required professional cleaning. Whether that’s true or not, it’s hard to believe that such a tiny dog could cause that level of damage. We offered to cover any actual cleaning costs, but they stopped responding entirely—no explanation, no breakdown, just kept the full deposit.Given that it was only a three-night stay, the 350 loss felt especially significant and disproportionate. The property itself was clean and in a nice area, but the lack of clear communication and fairness around the deposit was really frustrating. We won’t be staying here again, and I’d caution others to read between the lines before booking.
