Avg place for the price. Room smelled a little musty and the exterior is pretty worn out. Overall the only real negative was the pillows.

Miss Allen is GREAT!

Cannot recommend

I want to say that the staff was very polite and tried to assist in making my stay better. The issues I had were not their fault. I have minor asthma. Cigarette smoke, uncirculated air and damp air irritate my breathing. The hotel office smelled of cigarettes. My room reeked of stale cigarettes smoke. I tried turning the air on high and fanning the door, but it hurt to breathe. The next day, the staff offered a different room. That room was close to the office and did not have carpet. It smelled much cleaner, but the air was damp. I thought about moving to the different room, but once I returned to my first room to pack, I found bugs in the sink. I decided to leave and just pay for the second night. I was given a refund for the other 2 nights i had planned to stay. Also, to be noted, there were homeless people across the road camped under the trees across from the fire station. I had my special needs son with me and did not feel the area was safe considering the random people loitering near the hotel. Again, the staff was pleasant and I do appreciate that she tried to accommodate me, but all in all I couldn't bring myself to stay another night.

The room was really clean but had a very stale smell. The smell of cigarettes came through the air conditioner all night long. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful, but they smoke in the office. So, if you are sensitive to the smell of cigarettes , maybe this isn’t your hotel

I was greatly impressed by the staff, the property, and the room. The staff at the desk were so friendly and helpful. You definitely get bang for your buck at this hotel. It was a quiet, restful, enjoyable stay! I definitely will stay here again on my next trip to Johnson City!!!!

I was a bit skeptical at first when we arrived at the property. It looked a bit run down from the outside BUT when we got into our room we were very pleased at how clean everything was and that is what really counts. Also the ladies at the desk, both check-in and check-out, may be the friendliest hotel staff we have ever encountered. They were definitely A+!

I stayed at Red Roof Inn in Johnson City, Tennessee, from June 27 to July 1, 2025. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient. The location is also convenient, close to shopping areas and coffee shops. However, I experienced a serious health issue during my stay. On the second day, I began feeling itchy on my face and scalp. Thinking it was an allergy, I took medication. But by the time I checked out, the itching had spread to my neck, arms, and entire face, with red spots developing. Once I returned home, my condition worsened. I was admitted to the ER twice on July 6 and 7 due to a severe skin infection. Yellow fluid began coming out from my ears and scalp. When I showed my ER doctor photos I had taken during my stay at the hotel, the doctor suspected bedbugs as the cause of the reaction. I’m currently undergoing multiple tests and still receiving treatment. This has seriously affected my health and daily life. I request a response from Expedia and Red Roof Inc.
I saw cockroaches ran around on the floor.
Next day, I saw more cockroaches on the floor and on the sink

We didn’t even stay the night. The first room we got keys for smelled like a wet moldy basement. The second room we tried had mold growing on the wall and ceiling. We opted not to try for a third room

Get what you pay for

Needed a quick room after a concert. Check in was quick and the staff was friendly. It’s very dated, the ac unit was probably older than I am, but after the initial musky smell it cooled the room well. Saw a baby roach in the bathroom this morning as we were checking out.

When I first booked the room the website didn’t say that this room had a Microwave and Fridge so I packed my big cooler with ice, drinks and sandwich makings. Lo and behold, as soon as I opened the door to the room, there was a microwave and fridge! I didn’t need my cooler after all. A very pleasant surprise. The room was very comfortable. Excellent stay!!

The lady was nice at check in and for the price the room was decent. It was clean smelled nice and no bugs that’s all I could ask for. The bed was rough. You could see the dip where it was wore down to the springs. Very uncomfortable!
