Piersland House
"The Mews buildings are nice inside, the bathroom maybe slightly letting it down. The food was excellent and the draught beer fresh and good quality. We found the staff helpful and polite. The only criticism we would have is that there is building work going on beside the Mews buildings, I think they are adding more buildings. We ended up in the building with a crane right outside our door. When we arrived we wanted to rest in the room for a little while but it was very noisy. The building works went on from 8am to around 4.30pm each day but during the night it was very windy so there was a lot of noise coming from the site. I dont expect the hotel to advertise they have works going on and i wouldnt say it ruined our enjoyment of the trip but it was a little annoying, more so given our neighbours are currently extending so we have been listening to building works for the last few months. I didnt raise this with the hotel as I didnt want any awkwardness, and for our two night stay we were out most of the day, but it would have been nice in the circumstances if they had offered us a complimentary drink at the bar or a small discount on our evening meal, for the invonvenience, which they may wish to consider for future guests."
