Perfect! One word to sum up our feeling about El Silencio.

Pros: Quiet, Free breakfast, secluded, eco friendly resort
We just returned from a 3 night stay which was part of the "Amigas in Costa Rica" package. El Silencio is not "just another upscale hotel or lodge", it is truly unique. Immersing ourselves in this location, literally we could feel ourselves unwind and relax from the moment we stepped out of the car. From the first greeting by the friendly and accommodating staff, we were made to feel like this was our home. It was such a remote and peaceful location there were many times that we felt like we were the only two people there. There was a good balance of activites/tours and relaxation time. The food selections are healthy and delicious, the dining area spectacular and we appreciated having the organic gardens and trout pond accessible to walk to. The cultural experience was a highlight of our stay, the local people made us feel like family. Being here has by far been the best vacation experience we have had. We are rejuvenated from being surrounded by the beauty of the cloud forest, hiking trails leading to mesmerizing waterfalls, meditative gardens and having all of it right outside our door. The bungalow we had was up on the hill & offered privacy, was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable, especially the bed with luxurious linens. The views from the bed watching the clouds roll in over the mountaintop in late afternoon was breathtaking; ahhhh...speechless. Having the private hot tub on the deck was wonderful, soothing on the cool late afternoons & nights. The spa is in a tranquil spot away from the main building and offers calm serenity with a babbling brook and a yoga deck. We would highly recommend a spa treatment and yoga class, both were glorious.
