The area around your stay is pure Pennsylvania countryside—quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Stalker Hill Road is a scenic, winding stretch with rolling hills, open fields, and dense woodlands that change beautifully with the seasons. You’ll likely spot deer, wild turkeys, and maybe even a black bear if you're lucky. The neighborhood is made up of friendly locals, mostly long-time residents who appreciate the slower pace of life. It’s a safe, rural setting where the biggest sounds you’ll hear at night are crickets and the occasional owl. Just down the road, you’ll find Stalker Hill Farm, a charming spot with fresh produce in season, and the nearby Stillwater Dam offers a great place for fishing or a peaceful walk by the water. If you’re looking for a true escape from city life, this is the perfect place to unplug and soak up the fresh air.
Getting around here is pretty straightforward, but you'll definitely want a car. This is classic rural Pennsylvania—no buses, no Ubers on demand, just open roads and peaceful drives. Parking is never an issue, whether at the cabin or anywhere in town. If you’re heading into Thompson or nearby towns like Susquehanna or Honesdale, everything is spread out, so plan for a drive. The roads are well-maintained, but if you're visiting in winter, be prepared for some snow-covered backroads. Biking is an option for short trips, but most people stick to their cars. If you're up for a scenic drive, Route 171 will take you through rolling hills and into town, where you’ll find small diners, markets, and the essentials.
⭐ “Lisa went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing getaway into the countryside of Pennsylvania...we loved our visit and plan on staying again very soon.”

It’s the perfect spot to unwind, explore nature, and enjoy the simple pleasures of rural Pennsylvania.

My friends and I stayed here for a night after a day of skiing at Elk Mountain. The location was close to the mountain, the check in process was easy, and the room was cozy and adorable! Would stay here again!
We came up to the area to check out the biking trails and Elk Mt. Everything was accessible and enjoyable from our clean, well equipped, chilled out, tastefully decorated cabin.
The cabin was beautiful and very clean. The cabins and campground are very well kept, and it was a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The owners were very helpful with any questions, and information provided prior to arriving was accurate and very thorough. I would definitely recommend it for a relaxing weekend getaway!
Quick communication from the get-go as this was a last min stay for just me and my dog. Cabin was clean and had everything I needed. Property is really nice with plenty of outdoor space, fire pit, and grills..so especially if you have a group. Great overall! Thanks!
I had a really enjoyable stay at this cabin overall. The host was incredibly attentive and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the trip. It’s clear they care about their guests’ experience, which made a big difference. The location itself is one of the best parts—tucked away in a peaceful, quiet setting that’s perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from the usual noise. Waking up to nature and having that sense of calm all around was exactly what I was looking for. That said, the cabin could have been a bit cleaner upon arrival. It wasn’t anything that completely ruined the stay, but it was noticeable enough to mention and something that could easily elevate the experience even more. All in all, a lovely getaway with a great host and beautiful surroundings—just a little more attention to cleanliness would make it truly exceptional.
Cabin looks just like the pictures--very clean, cute, and well thought out. Grounds are very well-maintained. Neighboring cabins were not intrusive at all. Staying in the Jack cabin, be aware that there is not drive-up car spot and there is a bit of a walk down a gravel path to get your things to the cabin. Not super challenging, but something to be aware of for those with lots of luggage and/or limited mobility. I caught a moment to chat with Lisa and she is a lovely, out-of-the-way host. She was simply maintaining the property, and also not intrusive at all. The location is rural and isolated so plan nighttime drives around that fact (deer are all over!). I would absolutely stay again. The hot tub at sunset was the perfect me-time relaxation.
The stay was great, easy check-in, breath taking view. The only single issue we had was with the touch screen stove top, the lock button kept becoming active without being able to turn off the lock and the food stopped cooking. While trying to call, no answer and no return call. Googled to flip breaker, and continued cooking. Other than that, beds were comfy, everything super clean, great amenities. No oven!
