Chalet in Western Maine, Fireplace, Fire pit, sleeps 6

Welcome to Bonney's Hillside House. Tucked away in the hills of Maine you will find scenic mountain views complimented with peace and quiet. Centrally located in the Oxford Hills region you have access to numerous hiking trails, lakes, ski resorts, snowmobiling trails, Oxford Plains Speedway, Oxford Casino, and local restaurants & shopping in both Paris and Norway. Spend your days enjoying everything that Maine has to offer and relaxing at Bonney's Hillside House in the evening.

Please note, the home sits atop a small hill, during snow and icy weather the driveway can be challenging to navigate for some vehicles. Although the driveway is regularly maintained with plowing, salt, and sand the weather can be unpredictable at times and the plows need time to make their scheduled passes. This does not make the house inaccessible but you may have difficulty getting up the driveway depending on your vehicle type, parking is available at the beginning of the driveway for these scenarios.

The house is equipped with a propane fueled generator that provides heat and electricity to the entire house for any power outage situations that arise due to inclement weather. Fuel is provided and on site at all times, there are simple step by step instructions posted for the generator set up and operation.

Quiet Getaway close to home town.
Great rental house for 6. Property was clean and well maintained, amnesties were what we needed. Self check-in/out process was too easy. Looking forward to revisiting in the future.

Very clean and cozy!
Overall the house was probably one of the cleanest short term rentals we have ever stayed in which was amazing! Made us feel right at home when we came to visit family in the area. The host was great and very communicative. The only slight downfall is the steep driveway but had we had an suv we wouldn't have had a problem. Would highly recommend!

Awesome peaceful getaway
First of all, this was the cleanest rental property that I've ever been in. All furniture, fixtures, appeared to be brand new. The location itself was perfect for a peaceful fall getaway, plenty of solitude but just a few minutes away from an everything-you-could-want store at Tilton's (try the ground bacon burger and their cookies). Not too far from more food options in Norway. We loved the open layout, the two distinct living areas, two self-contained floors with bedrooms and bathrooms, and of course the fireplace. We would love to return.

Quiet home in the hills
Overall, we had no issues. House was clean and well supplied. It was a little over a hour from the "touristy" areas to the East, which was further then I would have liked. The trade off is the quiet and lack of traffic by the home at night. Chocolate chip cookies at Tildens store are a must have.

Wonderful place
We were very please with the accommodations…..just as pictured. Home was very clean, updated and well stocked with all the essentials. Snow fell on the our first night so our kids had a great time sledding in the yard and going down the driveway. As mentioned in the posting, the driveway is steep so you do need AWD in wintry weather. We had to park at the bottom of driveway which wasn’t a big deal as there is a spot. Our only suggestion is to have more of a seating area, like a loveseat with rug and coffee table in the fireplace room. It is such a great room and gets cozy with fireplace on. We highly recommend this place.

Cozy winter getaway
This place would be wonderful anytime of year, however with the fireplace, nice views, and warm blanket and overall vibe, this was perfect for a family visit for a winter wedding. Great advance communication, great signage throughout the house. Ample space and a cute fireplace.Didn’t realize until just before we left there’s a great local store for provisions right down the road. Note: keurig machine but no traditional coffee pot if that matters to you. Great chef’s stove
