AC doesn't work, the whole placed smelled and it wasnt clean, the bed wasnt comfortable, might sleep on the sofa. I think the puctures of these place on website or even travelocity doesnt really represent this place. Lesson learned never again, i think staying different hotel might be better. We woke with heache and sicknesss of discomforts. Never again. Thanks.

Don't stay at this very out dated, overpriced motel. Not a resort at all. Needs an over haul badly. They tried to do little updates but just need to redo it all! The bathroom fans blew out into the hallway and were super loud. Our friends stayed 3 doors down from us and theirs looked the same. Old and outdated.

Comfortable condo

Pros: proximity to the base of the mountain, square footage of the unit, plenty of linens
Cons: internet connection, more plates/silverware in unit, more knowledgable staff regarding ski info (you can see the mountain from the front door!)
Location: Safeway is across the street to purchase any groceries, Walgreens is also walking distance, we only went out for dinner once and restaurant was close
The 2-bedroom/2-bath unit at Legacy Vacation Club worked out great for my family (mom/dad/teenager). The club is located close to skiing; the Legacy provides a free mini-bus to transfer guests from the club to the base of the mountain and back. During our stay, Dec 27-Jan 1, the bus started at 8:15am and continued all day until after skiing. You could also use the bus to take you downtown Steamboat Spring, or any store/ restaurant, all free of charge. There is a Safeway grocery store conveniently located across the street. The unit itself wasn't fancy but had everything we needed. It would have been nicer to have a few more dishes; there was a place setting for 6 and basic pots/pans. Internet access was available but slow. There was a draft under our door but the heat in the unit was fine. TV's were in both bedrooms in addition to in the living room. Our unit was on the 3rd floor; no elevator so we got in a little exercise. When we arrived, I asked what time the lifts opened. Nobody at the front desk could answer the question. When I asked about the cost of lift tickets, nobody at the front desk had any idea. Was there another place besides the base of the mountain to purchase discount lift tickets? Nobody at the front desk had a clue. Being this close to a major ski area, I would think the staff would know these basic questions. Yes, we would stay at the Legacy again

Pros: Location
Location: ski, dine, shop
Good location to the grocery store, ski haus(for those who may need rental/equipment), liquor store and bus line. All within short walking distance. The hotel shuttle was a good option going to and from the mountain. If you were outside of times the city bus line runs right by to get to and from the mountain and downtown. The sauna needs time to heat up. A lot of time. The staff should turn this on when they arrive and check it periodically after ski time and evening to keep the temperature up. Otherwise who has time to wait for it to heat to use? This is my only negative. The staff was completely helpful in all regards.

Good size suite. Details a bit lacking.

The size of the suite was good, with a nice-sized bedroom. However, only a blanket was provided for the sofa sleeper and the TV was very small for the size of the rooms.

Solid, but not even close to 3 stars

Based on rating of places I've stayed this year, 3 stars no longer means either (entry-level) luxury or hotel. This is a perfectly nice place, comparable to a nicer Super 8 or Days Inn. It was clean (some mold on the shower being the only ding), the bed was better than average for a motel, and the full kitchen is a step above what you will find in most "suites"-type motels. It is a bit dated and inexpensively remodeled, but, again, when compared to most motels, definitely solid. What it isn't is 3-star, a hotel or a resort. If you get those ideas out of your mind and picture what it's real competition is (2-star motels), it's not bad.
