We were looking for a quiet, secluded space and this was perfect. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful. Walking up to the lookout provided a really great view.

We recently stayed at this incredible VRBO cabin, and our experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking, panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley from the top of Great North Mountain. The cabin is perfectly secluded, providing the ideal escape for our anniversary.The home itself is stunning—spacious, pristine, and thoughtfully designed. The sprawling deck quickly became our favorite spot to relax and take in the sunrise in the morning. A big surprise, because it was not in any of the property pictures, was the raised platform deck that extends off the main deck to give you an even more elevated viewpoint for a full 360 degrees. Everything inside was spotlessly clean and the master suite was supremely comfortable. Space abounds in the kitchen and there is plenty of space to store your food and other items. We echo the hosts recommendation to plan and bring your meals as the road to get to the cabin does not lend itself to a “quick trip to the store.” This was the exact kind of location that we were hoping for and cannot say enough good things about our stay. Looking forward to the next time that we can visit Almost Heaven!

Almost Heaven, it was

This property is outstanding in every respect. From the booking process to the photographs and information provided, our expectations were consistently exceeded. The recommendation to use a 4x4 vehicle proved wise, and our jeep handled the mountain drive with ease. Upon arrival, the property's stunning beauty and swing set left us in awe. The interior of the home was equally impressive, with its spacious, beautifully decorated rooms and welcoming atmosphere. The addition of three fans and a remarkable fireplace further enhanced our stay. The deck offered panoramic views that left us speechless. Moreover, the 360-degree lookout tower was an unexpected delight, providing unforgettable sunset experiences. The proximity of the Tuscarora Trail allowed us to enjoy hikes in both directions. Our time at Almost Heaven was nothing short of extraordinary. We were fortunate enough to extend our stay by an additional day and are grateful for the opportunity to have rented this property. Thank you for your hospitality.

Amazing!

If you need a time off and relax this is the right place just to be by yourself and family. The place is beautiful the details in the house are perfect. They provide you with everything you need. We had a great time just relaxing, talking, eating, drinking coffee and playing games. I would highly recommend it as I am looking forward to come back again. Thank you.

Amazing views from the mountaintop

The perfect Thanksgiving family venue! This place has amazing views, the backyard is a hiking trail, it has a huge fireplace that we kept going our entire stay, plenty of games, plenty of space for your own fun or relaxation and a huge deck with swings to enjoy the views!! Would highly recommend this to anyone with AWD or 4WD!!

This was the most perfect place to stay. The entire home was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. The view is stunning, and the outlook was a perfect place to watch the sunrise. Secluded and perfect!

Fantastic stay! Our host was great and there were no issues or hiccups but if there had been I'm sure they would have been resolved quickly. I cant say enough about this place. Clean, high end and just as peaceful as it seems in the pictures. The decks and views are AMAZING!! Highly recommended and we plan to be back there again!

Tranquil, Quite, Refreshing

This is a beautiful property with amazing views and privacy. The house is very well equipped and the host is very responsive. We saw lots of deer, turkey, grouse, and lots of other birds. The view of storms rolling through we great and even had full view of a double rainbow in the valley. I also hiked over to Eagle Rock and enjoyed the spectacular view from there. The kitchen had most everything needed for cooking, baking, and grilling. If you’re going to cook a lot I would suggest bringing your own knives. I’m pretty picky in this area, so if you like to cook you’ll know what I mean. If you decide to visit Almost Heaven you won’t regret it!

Secluded, quiet and very well designed.

The cabin is a recent build and everything is very well designed and laid out. It is very welcoming and cozy. Everything about the cabin feels intentional and thoughtful. For example the new upper deck lookout off the cabin deck obviously took a lot of work but adds a beautiful 360 degree view of the horizon and a view of the sunset. The views are stunning, pictures can't do them justice. The host was perfectly attentive to checking in with us and helping with some weather related questions but not at all intrusive during our stay. An enthusiastic 5 stars for sure! It is secluded but not far from town. In the week we were at the cabin we only saw 1 car drive past the cabin, it is THAT secluded. We loved it! It was by far the most quiet and peaceful stay we have ever had. This was the perfect place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.
