The overall resort was nice and the restaurant on site was good with excellent service. The front desk and concierge staff as well as the shuttle staff were lovely. Unfortunately one of the facilities staff lectured me for walking through an area of the lobby she was mopping. I felt like my mom gave me hell. The room as good size and comfortable. They also had taxi service running on a steady rotation which was great! The biggest disappointment was the beach area was non existent. The resort should make restoration a top priority for the beach area. Overall a good stay at a safe, budget friendly location.

completely dug out the entire beach trying to remove seaweed, creating mud and the most horrific smell ever. St Thomas island government is going to fine them and told them to stop touching the beach. It was sulfur smell on steroids, instant headache and every where in the property, I requested a refund that was denied, I even had a special team from Travelocity contact the manager of the resort. resort told me to bad dude. At the restaurant the burger in paradise tasted like a frozen patty from the discount store topped with sulfur. And top it off the stay, a fire alarm the was going off every 2 hours in our room. Again; resort doesn’t care and has no policy or common sense to do the right thing. I also wish they had to deal with my family who were sleep deprived and very angry and mean all day to me for booking this.

This hotel smells REALLY bad due to the seaweed buildup on the “beach”. It looks nothing like the picture, be aware and read reviews before you book!! The beach and the canal onsite is extremely dirty, and the smell is unbearable. The main pool and restaurant onsite is next to the “beach”, just imagine you are in the pool and eating next to a porta potty everyday. I was hoping to enjoy the resort, but ended up booking a bunch of excursions last minute so I can be at the resort only to sleep. Rooms are also a little old and rundown, the floor grouts are completely black. Staff was friendly honestly, but other than that, there are not really any up sides to this hotel. I would not recommend anyone booking here, do not ruin your vacation from day 1.

The roads to get there were so horrible they were almost impossible. St. Thomas is not a nice place to visit. I arrived at the gate and the guard asked me for my room number and it wasn't even in the information I got from Expedia. He let us in anyway and halfway up the drive the smell of raw sewage hit me at the volume of a dead cow. I turned around and drove back to the airport, on the wrong side of the road as is their custom and dodging very aggressive drivers the whole way. It took another day to get out of there. I had to spend more money to stay at a different resort near the airport. The Emerald resort was much much nicer, but I wouldn't make it a destination. Nothing on St. Thomas in the areas I saw was acceptable. They don't have any water except for what they can make with desalination. Avoid this place!

The availability of taxis, closeness to shopping, food and groceries, and other beaches offers a wonderful touch. The onsite restaurant charge for convenience, not quality. We ate there as a last resort. Drinks are priced great during happy hour.

Property was great! The beach was closed because of a Sargassum seaweed outbreak, this happened after booking and they were not cleaning up so very bad smell when outside around the lobby, main pool and restaurant. Also no tv service was working while there the entire week. Understand things happen but there was no offer or incentive for a partial refund or anything. Loved the activities and staff was super great and friendly, would visit again just wish we would have received some kind of offer for the inconvenience.

Poor disclosure on the toxic levels of sargassum, with horrible smell, eroded beach, you can smell the dead sargassum in the only restaurant they have. You could not even walk near the beach. For the first few days they did not have any workers attempting to clean it up. It was the worst experience I have ever had traveling and their prices should be adjusted accordingly with FULL DISCLOSURE of the poor conditions and unhealthy environment. Additionally, the rooms smelled like a brewery on spring break, stains on sofas and chairs, and broken , dirty sofa bed. Lastly, the entire resort did not have any working TV service, and a manager informed me that they have not worked for couple of weeks and they are unfortunately waiting on parts from the states-another non-disclosure...Worst hotel experience on every level!!!

When we arrived the stench of the seaweed was nauseating. They had no tv throughout the hotel. Neither of these were listed on their website. If we would have known we would never have stayed there. The restaurant staff was very slow and rude! It was hard to even eat with the seaweed smell. They add 18% gratuities on everything from restaurant to pool bar. Taxis are expensive but you have no choice because this hotel is 15 minutes away from everything. We will never stay here again!!!!

The rooms were excellent! Loved the swim up bar! The staff could be more friendly. Say good morning/afternoon in the passing or even just say hi when standing in the lobby. My family experienced where we had to walk up to someone to get acknowledgment. I would recommend having more golf carts and drivers to take guests back to the rooms. The wait times were long. Saw more utility carts than ride on carts. I wish we were warned about the smell of the sargassum. We were warned about it but no indication of the smell. It definitely took some what time of getting use to it. I know that it’s part of nature but definitely would’ve liked a warning. There were 3 employees that were truly amazing with customer service. The only name I caught of the 3 was JB

The resort was large and clean! The bartenders catered to certain races and will see you sit and ignore you! The internet was down our stay! No tv during the stay! We were locked out of our room due to the battery in the door and had to wait about 30+ min for someone to show up and let us in from the heat! Due to that we ended up missing the shuttle so we had to pay to get somewhere that would have been free and the hotel didn’t care! Additionally, we’ were not compensated for the inconvenience even though others were! The restaurant was absolutely horrible and the prices were expensive for poor quality! The mixed drinks were weak! There were kids in the “adult” pool 👀! They were also very strict about their towels threatening to charge you if they weren’t all accounted for! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean! Be careful of the taxis because they are supposed to charge the same rate but they all don’t! Use the bus it’s way cheaper! And don’t use the liquor store right outside the hotel….way overpriced

We were so disappointed in this place. We were told 1 week before they had a seaweed issue that closed the beach. What they didn’t say was the entire property smelled of rotting fish, especially the only restaurant. We lost power 5 times. No TV all week. Only restaurant “wasn’t serving food” one day and closed early another. Toilet made an awful noise. Staff was rude. Food took 45 minutes to an hour regardless of when you went to eat. 135 stairs to our room and another 185 to the infinity pool, or risk your life in a golf cart you had to wait 20 minutes for. It was awful and a complete waste of money. I’ve never smelled anything so nasty in my life and the entire place reeked of it. I found out it was ALREADY an issue 2 months before we got there, when we booked, and we absolutely should’ve been told that then!

The rooms and staff were great but the beach front was unusable due to seaweed that stunk horribly. The grounds are beautiful but to be out is to have this awful smell of seaweed dying in the bay. Some rooms also smell inside, thankfully we didn’t have that impact. Additionally the entire stay which was over a week with two separate rooms had no tv service at all with kids. Not credit or offset at all for either shameful
