Didn't love the experience.

Pros: My spa service.
Cons: Service.
There was nothing that stood out for me at this Ritz Carlton that impressed me. It wasn't bad, but I did not love it and would not go back. Travelocity was horrific with the booking process and I would not recommend them either. I booked a certain package that was supposed to include a daily resort credit and free breakfast and it was not in my itinerary when I arrived. Also, I went to check my seats on my flights. Turns out, travelocity had me on STANDBY. I did not have seats either way and I had to upgrade them in order to have a seat on the plane. More additional money I needed to put out. Highly recommend using another way to book your packages. Again, the hotel wasn't bad, but not up to the "Ritz Par".

Watch out the infinity pool is closed

Our stay was 9/13/2016 to 9/19/2016. We were not notified by the hotel or Travelocity that the infinity pool is closed for repairs. The wonderful view of the grounds and ocean was marred by a large empty pool and a closed restaurant on the beach. It is under construction and won't be opened again until some time this winter. This trip was to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Friends had arranged with the hotel to send us a fruit, cheese and wine basket and the other sent a full in room deluxe breakfast. Both never arrived. The hotel staff never acknowledged the wine and cheese error until we asked about it. We didn't know about the breakfast order until after we arrived home after the trip. After we complained about the cheese and wine basket we were offered a $100 credit. Common guys this was our 50th anniversary. They ultimately offered a $450 discount. Now that we have discovered the breakfast failure we are totally frustrated with the Ritz-Carlton and do not recommend it to other travelers.

Everything was lovely except they stated some upgrades to the pool nearest to my room without letting us know at check in. Which was a small inconvenience because they closed the restaurant as well but not enough to ruin the trip.

Unbelievable Experience and Service

The Ritz Carlton is known for their exceptional service and they did not disappoint in St. Thomas. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a wonderful check in experience including Rum Punch :). We were also there to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we were presented with an oversized room with a balcony overlooking the gorgeous resort with the added bonus of complimentary champagne bottle and truffles. Throughout the stay the staff was on point, catering to our every need. The accommodations were more than we expected and super clean. The food and drinks on site were awesome and some of the freshest fish we have ever had. The concierge was phenomenal and helped us plan for offsite dinners and trips to the other islands. The only downside was that we were only there for 7 days and wish we could have stayed longer.

We didn't know there was extra charges for amenities (we only used the beach towels). I would also recommend buying snacks from grocery store. Other than that (first time to St. Thomas) Ritz Carlton hotel was amazing. The staff was awesome. Beautiful view, private beach, nice and clean rooms.

Beautiful property, fantastic service, great food and drinks. Love the beach and all the toys; kayak, paddle boards, hobie cats, snorkeling, etc.

Not as good as last stay

Pros: Location and its beauty.
Cons: Staff at registration.
Unfortunately our stay at the Ritz in St Thomas this time around was not nearly as good as the first time. It started with our check in. Last time they greeted us with cold towels and cold drinks. This time neither and we finally asked for the drinks. They forgot to clean the room the first day and the AC went out. They did not show up for a birthday ride to the cab they forgot to call. The responses from the staff were not of five star quality. When we asked why the room was not cleaned at 4pm? The response was "we have until 5." The room was finally cleaned at 8pm. We are not lazy at all, but when you work very hard and want to get away you naturally expect the 5star service you pay for. We were so disappointed that we have taken the hotel off our list for future travel. The only thing that saved this hotel is the beauty of its location and the great staff at the sails restaurant and Luke the Bellman. A++++ to them. St Martin hear we come.

Great Hotel but Overpriced

Pros: The view is beautiful. We had a room on the third floor overlooking the beach and the pool. The grounds are nicely kept and the staff is very pleasant
Cons: Food is really overpriced. Must have dinner reservations whether restaurant is full or not. Impossible to get chairs on the beach.
Location: 30 minute drive from airport. Not much to do nearby the hotel but snorkeling, kayaking, and other water sports available on the resort grounds.
The Ritz-Carlton is supposed to be the best resort on the Island. While the hotel itself is very beautiful - the rooms are nicely appointed and clean, the view from the beach is spectacular - my overall rating is less that 5-star. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on food. My husband and I traveled with 2 children and stayed for 3 nights. We spent over $1,000 on meals. Lunch for 4 was always over $100 and dinner was close to $300. The mini fridge in the room does not keep food at a refrigerated temperature, so you cannot store anything in there to keep for later. Be sure to make reservations for dinner. We were turned away twice at different restaurants, even though the they were not full. Adult drinks are at least $15 so keeping your own bottle and mixers in the room is a good idea. Buy sunscreen outside the hotel. Mine was taken at the airport and a bottle of tanning lotion at the resort was $30. I will say overall the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Although I would consider staying here again and would recommend this hotel to others, I will also say that if I visit St. Thomas again I will be sure to explore other options. In all, this is a wonderful hotel, but very overpriced. If you want to visit the 'famous' shopping areas they are only open when the cruise ships come to port and those that are open close around 5pm. The local paper will list days that ships are in port so you can plan your shopping excursion accordingly.

Amazing property with great restaurants and staff.

Pros: We felt extremely pampered and safe on the property. It is beautiful and had the best customer service I have every experienced.
Cons: The price of the sodas were ridiculous. 3 to 5 dollars per bottle.
We enjoyed the stay and all the amenities this facility had to offer. It was clean, classy and the customer service was impeccable. The food was a little pricey but excellent.
