Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean and comfortable room; fair price paid. Up in the hill with a Nice view of the harbor. Be ready for many stairs. Near downtown. Our room needed a bed upgrade

Nice value for the money

Hotel was well kept. Room had some mosquitoes that we dealt with. Breakfast was free and the staff except for one was above and beyond courteous and friendly. If there was a drawback, the property is located on a hill and in addition to the steep incline there are many stairs but this is advertised and we expected this, so it wasn’t an issue. We would stay here again as it is in close proximity to restaurants and shopping.

Location: There were lots of shops, historic sites with tours, and the waterfront to visit. Taxis nearby to visit other shops and activities.
I had a nice quaint room with private bathroom. I wonderful view of the waterfront, and the mountains. Easy access to shops and various restaurants. Be prepared to walk up quite a few stairs. Overall a nice place to stay.

Stay at Galleon House

It is true to it's name. ' Bed and breakfast'. Real plain and simple. Very economical. When Chris serve breakfast it is good. The ladies talk too much while preparing and serving breakfast. Very limited tv channels.

Avoid this dump

I show up at the entrance of the hotel - you pretty much have to climb a mountain and a maze of stairs just to get to the front desk. Seriously it is aweful - very steep stairs that start and stop, left and right 90 degree turns, then step down and then step up. There is no one at all that will help with your bags. If you're carrying a lot of bags it is miserable. I get to the front desk and then the lady working there gives attitude right off the bat. I ask about having someone that could help with the bags for tips and she says - we don't do that. Ok. I say, can I just check in as quickly as possible - drenched in sweat, and she goes through this veeeeery slow, passive aggressive routine of spelling every thing out sloooooowly and just being intentionally annoying. So where are the rooms? Up more steep stairs and around corners and more steep stairs. It's crazy. The whole environment really looks like a dump as well - the pool is dirty - no ones using it, and everything is overgrown and the pathway and stairs to everywhere are uneven so suitcases don't roll properly. I get in the room and it's more like a $25 roadside motel quality, except the shower barely even works and the mosquitos start biting within a minute. 2 nasty bites right off the bat. It's so dark and dingy that you know mosquitos are everywhere. There was a can of bug spray in the room, so I sprayed everything. The bed sucked, but the view was okay. Bathroom was pretty bad. do not stay!!!!!

I got what I wanted

Pros: Breakfast, Price, location, and pool.
I wanted an inexpensive room for just one night on short notice. Fortunately it was the week after Carnival so I found this room at Galleon for a great price. It was one of several they offered this one was less since the bathroom was shared down the hall, not an issue at all for me fortunately. The room was OK, it did have cable TV but I had to program it to use it but there was HBO so quite a bargain really. The pool was nice and there was a giant lizard sunning himself on the deck to keep me company. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was wonderful! All in all I got just what I wanted!

Great staff! Good value.

It is nothing fancy and lots of steps to climb but a clean comfortable place with a great breakfast! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was a good value for the price. Loved the pool too!

Feeling ripped off.

Pros: The desk clerk was very pleasant.
Cons: Hot water shower, coffee, something for guests to eat if they want to depart before 8AM, lighting, A/C thermostats in Fahrenheit not Celsius
Expect parking to be troublesome if you arrive before 4:30 during the week, there is only 1 single reserved parking spot. Use an overnight bag and leave your suitcase in the car - there are a lot of stairs just to the front desk. Luckily I had a flashlight app in my phone - not a single light was working in the cave-like entrance to my room. This is a bed-and-breakfast inn however breakfast isn't served until 8:00 AM. They don't even offer coffee to early risers. The steel doors at the entrance are locked at 9:00 PM for added security which I appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was having to struggle to open or close them since they don't align. To describe my room as spartan would be an overstatement. The bed was in good shape and the A/C worked well. The built in shelves and bench however should be replaced, it was also in need of a good paint job. The bathroom is worn out. I'm not fussy but this was a low end chain budget motel experience costing twice what it should cost ANYWHERE. The lack of coffee in the morning wasn't as terrible as it may sound since there was no hot water for my shower so I was plenty awake when I left.

Terrible hotel, Would never ever recommend

Would never ever recommend anyone to go to this hotel. We are a group of nine and arrived late because of an emergency landing. The gates were closed no access to get in thank God there was a customer coming in just to go to her room. The woman greeting us was very ungracious met us in her night gown. There was a complementary can of raid in each room to spray for the cockroaches. We had several suitcases we had to bring up approximately 100 flight of stairs, very steep stairs to boot. It was highly recommended to us by Travelocity. We had several suitcases we had to bring up approximately 100 flight of stairs, very steep stairs to boot. The only thing that was relatively pleasing about this place was a complementary breakfast, which we asked for one pancake for a nine-month-old grandson and was refused because it's too difficult to make one pancake. They were not accommodating whatsoever
