Not a comfortable place to stay

Location: Location is convenient to many of the "tourist-trap" things to do downtown. We found a good restaurant a few blocks away.
The most interesting/appealing part of this hotel is its lobby... Very grand old place, with great woodwork. Alas, it's basically a members only facility. It really is an athletic club, with some old rooms upstairs that have been refurnished as "hotel rooms". Very uncomfortable, cranky old plumbing in the bathroom, scratchy & thin locker room towels, hard & ugly industrial carpeting, a non-functional thermostat. Staff downstairs was difficult to locate, and fairly terse/unhelpful with check-in. Not a good value for the money.

Never again

I came here for a conference July 7-10 and did not enjoy my stay at all. The staff was so helpful and amazing, the lobby is beautiful, but the rooms are old. I actually felt like I was staying in some old person's bedroom. The mirrors were so old, they had those rust spots where you couldn't see your reflection. I want to claim false advertisement because they advertised that they have updated rooms..... They only have 8 renovated rooms. My stay was not pleasant at all. If I ever come back to St. Louis I will not stay there again. I didn't even take pictures of the room, I was so disappointed and over it. Money not well spent. :-(

We did complete about 8 rooms in our last round of renovations, which puts us over 25 updated rooms total. We continue to improve the quality of the rooms, but regardless of that I know it doesn't change your experience. As much as we wish we could go back and change that I know we ultimately failed to meet your expectations, and for that we express out sincere heartfelt apologies. St. Louis for a Baseball game

Pros: it was elegant
Cons: AC in the room. update the bathrooms
Location: close to the Cardinals stadium which was important as we attended a game. Arch was very close --good restaurants close by. Walked everywhere
The hotel was in walking distance to the Cardinals field as well as the Arch. The hotel room was updated but kept in era. Only one outlet in the bathroom and we had to search to find it---finally located it on the top side of the light above the mirror. Shower was very small. No AC in our room just a ceiling fan. With temps in the 90's and humidity at 70% --no AC made sleeping a challenge

Rip off

Was told that the room was cancelled, then I was charged for the entire room. IF THEY CANCELED, WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY????

Beautiful facility, ify security

Facility beautiful, front desk staff very friendly and helpful, security is an issue, made arrangements with security to protect our van and equipment and even with that suspicious circumstances and around the van being broken into.....
