would have appreciated a dog area with less 'land mines' and better lighting. Had a very difficult time finding a restaurant (other than fast food) open after dark. Your desk clerk's advice was erroneous. Finally found RJ's by just driving around.

It was a good stay in Socorro was a clean room, pleasant staff, and a really spacious gym that I enjoyed a lot. We appreciated that their breakfast opened early however there were not a lot of breakfast options for us as we are vegetarian. I would stay here again. Really appreciated proximity to Bosque del Apache

Ran out of coffee and several quests asked about it. I sat there for 30 minutes and no coffee refill. It was very busy, and I believe the lady who was working needed back-up to refill the coffee, eggs, sausages, and the pastry drawer. I stay there often, and this was this first time I experienced untimely refills of everything.

The best thing about the Econo Lodge was the breakfast, but when they run out they run out, so don't expect to arrive at 8:45 and get biscuits and gravy. Early in the morning there was a excellent variety and everything tasted great. Not so great was the noise and general shabbiness of the room. At about 8:00 pm someone decided to do some repairs right below my room that involved a lot of endless loud hammering and banging. It took repeated calls to the front desk to get them to stop making noise. One reason we picked this hotel was that according to their website it had been recently refurbished. I think they forgot to refurbish our room. Frayed rugs, cigarette holes in the quilt, soap scum on the bathroom door. a door frame that never got properly finished. The bathroom door, by the way, would not shut completely. Sadly we will not be coming here again.

Check in was terrible. We travel with a cat and because of prior experiences, we always call even though the on-line description says pet friendly. We were assured by booking that the hotel was cat friendly. When we arrived, we were told no cats but he told us since we were already there, he would allow us to stay. It was a bad start.
