Property is historic. Chelsea is a fabulous host and the property is just far enough away from the more touristy areas so that it is serene. That it is around the corner from Skagway Spirits Distillery doesn’t hurt either. 😉

At the White House was perfect for my brief stay in Skagway. It's within walking distance to "downtown" and all of the sights/restaurants/etc. Staff was wonderful and easy to work with. The room is quiet, clean, and comfortable. Although the building itself is old, all of the fixtures (electrical, plumbing, etc.) is updated. Highly recommended!

I can't rave enough about Chelsea and The White House. If you're coming into Skagway to stay for a day or two, this is a location to check out. It's down the street enough to avoid some of the cruise ship passenger mob, while still easy walking to prime spots on Broadway, the main drag. Chelsea will make your stay that much better with her willing, cheerful assistance. While there, don't miss Husky Tales on 5th to meet an Iditarod champion and cuddle husky puppies and Aurora Yarns of Alaska for the most amazing wool in the world from Musk Oxen.

We were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable our room was. The flavor of the old historic building was maintained while meeting the standards of most modern facilities. We arrived early and Chelsea took care of our luggage until our room was ready. She went through the Skagway highlights with us and we were off to explore the town. When we returned our luggage was in our room and extra power cords were already plugged in to accommodate our C-Pap machines. Upon check out we were able to leave our luggage in the room as we went off to breakfast and shopping. Upon return Chelsea had our luggage downstairs for us and she even called the taxi. We would definitely stay here again.
