"Very spacious and clean and lots of incidentals in the kitchen (much appreciated!) Primary bed - very comfortable. We only had a few hiccups— couldn’t get in the door at first (completely my fault) contacted owner and she responded quickly. We couldn’t get the fireplace to work - tried the remote, but it didn’t work. We ended up leaving early because of that."

"Great cabin - very clean and cozy. Host was easy to communicate with and pleasant. A perfect place to relax and unwind, but close to Waynesville, Maggie Valley, and Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, and more for activities and sightseeing."

"Terrapin cottage was a highlight of our NC trip. Everything was flawless and really nailed the vibe we were looking for! Bed and pillows were among the best we've ever had! The waterfall book helped a bunch since we didn't wholly plan our trip."

"This place is so close to being great! First of all the good. The location is fantastic. It is right on the river and surrounded by a couple of streams as well. Made for a great place to stroll or to sit and read a book in the afternoon. There is also lots of great hiking within 30 minutes. Sliding Rock is about 35 minutes from this house. Kitchen is well stocked, TVs and internet were great, and beds were comfortable. Firepit with lots of firewood on the property. Close to Waynesville, which had lots of good places to eat. House is quite spacious as well. Three bedrooms on upper floor and basically two large living areas. The bad - as the other reviewers said, the water smells like metal. REALLY smells like metal. The house provided plenty of bottled drinking water, but it was bad enough that nobody wanted to take a shower by the end of our three night stay there. I did not read the reviews enough to catch this detail before we left. Lots of cobwebs and dust - but chalked this up to it being so deep in the woods. Washer was out of order when we were there also, which was quite annoying as we had planned to have that ability when we packed for the trip. Overall a great place with tons of potential if you can get over the smell of metal in the water."
