The staff mostly was very friendly. What I primarily didn’t like is when it said the room had a balcony I didn't expect to have to climb out the window and have a view of the parking lot. The property has been recently renovated and for the most part was done nicely. However while they have tried to rebrand and be more upscale there are parts that still say Holiday Inn. For the money I expect little more luxury and a few extras like nice fluffy towels, better quality shampoo/conditioner, actually glasses rather than plastic cups and a bottle of complimentary water.

Check-in and check-out were easy. The complaints: Our “ocean view” wasn’t. The building Eden House smelled like fresh paint so beware if you’re sensitive. Housekeeping only happened in the first day of our stay. And surprise, apparently our bed was directly beneath the toilet above us. So I suggest getting a room on the top floor. The hotel charges $25/person “resort fee” despite claiming internet is free. The compliments: Our room was clean. the hotel is right on the 2 Eden free bus line which makes it easy to get around or have dinner in Bar Harbor. The hotel comes with heated outdoor pool and the grounds are lovely with tennis courts and cornhole. The bed is comfortable. Bathroom has plenty of towels and hot water. The hotel is close to Acadia entrance and Bar Harbor.

This property was very convenient and close to downtown Bar Harbor and was an easy 30 minute walk about a mile into town. The only thing that was lacking with this hotel is that we found out that our section of the hotel did not have an elevator which was little surprising when arriving because I don’t think it has stated on the website. So not exactly fun to be looking your luggage up and downstairs. The rooms were clean and a little outdated but for all the hiking and outdoor activities we didn’t really care about the aesthetic of the hotel too much. We will definitely be back!

The room and building that we were in were very clean and comfortable. We did not have an ocean front room but still had a view of the water from our window. The onsite restaurants were nice and offered great views. We enjoyed sitting on the chairs by the water enjoying the relaxing view. We felt the hotel was centrally located to all of the things we wanted to do and see while visiting and definitely want to plan another trip.

The place was well kept, landscaping was very well done and the interior was clean and modern. I can’t quite get over an undeserving conceited attitude from the front desk staff that was consistent across different staff members. The hotel was good across the board, but it wasn’t so good that I felt like I need to thank them for letting me stay there. I failed to follow their rule to remove the door hanger overnight that tells the staff to skip the room cleaning the following day. In the morning I realized my mistake and asked the front desk if the room could be added to their list to clean. The aforementioned conceited attitude was evident when she told me that she would take care of it, but the room was not attended to when we returned later that evening. Not too big of a deal overall, but I had to get the staff to set us up with some towels to get through to the next day and that bothered me. Now that it’s off my chest, the place was good. I had a breakfast package and the restaurant served a good breakfast all 4 day. I’d stay there again.

I enjoyed the view from our room, it was outstanding! The breakfast service was a bit hit and miss--sometimes the staff was attentive, at others they were not--there was one Jamaican woman who served at breakfast who was terrific and friendly, but the others were "meh". Room service was very good, grounds were perfect, loved the pool and hot tub.

This property has a jackpot of a view for Acadia! The back of this hotel is absolutely stunning! It a quick 4 minute drive into town for all the shopping and dining without having to be “in the chaos.” This is the second time we’ve stayed here and now it is newly renovated with beautiful rooms. The staff was also super helpful and accommodating for us with our baby. 10/10 this time! Highly recommend. No idea why it’s rated the way it is. I would tell all my friends to stay here just for the access to the waterfront and the view!
