The village itself offers a picturesque setting with stunning heathland walks on the doorstep, and cycle rides through woodland towards the coastal village of Dunwich (just 2.5 miles). A large village green lies just over the road from the cottage and offers a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic in the sunshine, and just a little further along is a large adventure play park – great for the younger members to let off some steam. The RSPB Minsmere Reserve, just 2 miles away, is a must visit during your stay, it’s the ideal place for those who enjoy a spot of birdwatching or exploring local fauna and flora, but equally makes a great day out for families too. Westleton is a pretty village midway between Aldeburgh and Southwold with the coast at Dunwich only two and a half miles away. It is centred around a large green and is one of the most popular places to stay on the Heritage Coast as it is an ideal base for the beach or for the RSPB Minsmere, as well as the coastal heaths and forests. There are two good pubs, a restaurant and well-stocked village store cum post office, all in the village centre. Much of the area around the village is accessible open heath or mixed woodland.
