Sawatari Onsen Hotel & Travel Guide
Don't waste time thinking about what to do next. Sawatari Onsen is calling to you.
You'll be glad you made the trek to its home in Nakanojo, roughly 90 miles (145 kilometers) outside of Tokyo, the nation's capital.
There's a good range of 7 hotels within 2 miles (3 kilometers) of Sawatari Onsen, but it's still a wise idea to make your reservation ahead of time. The Shima Onsen Kashiwaya Ryokan and the Shima Yamaguchikan are suitable choices here, located 1 mile (2 kilometers) and 0.6 miles (1.0 kilometer) away, respectively.
Socialize, unwind and get to know the locals at Shima Tamura, which is just a stone's throw away. However, if your stomach's beginning to talk, you might want to consider Asunaro, also close-at-hand. Of course, there's no finer way to finish off a day's exploring than with a relaxing drink. 一花館, also a short walk away, is where you want to be.

Yuyado Tokinoniwa
"There were lots of neat activities like late night ramen and ice pops! The private onsens were very pretty as well. Tattoos are allowed in private onsens, but not public ones (but if you do have tattoos, they give you skin covers to wear if you do want to go into the public ones). They do charge for the bathroom tub, I believe, but it's only 300 yen for one click of the button. Otherwise very fun and highly recommend! You definitely get what you pay for (in a good way) :)"
