I stayed at Golden Host host several different times prior to the pandemic lockdown. It was always a very good motel with a helpful staff. This current stay at the motel was my first time in 7 years. And Golden Host has improved in every way...the updated rooms with delightful art deco refrigerator and microwave, very comfortable bedding, a large flat screen television, a major facelift to the lobby, the pool and the patio tables and chairs, and a staff that is there for all your needs. Also, the Bahi Hut bar is as good as ever...and now has the addition of a night of karaoke, two nights of live music and an evening of drag bingo...all delightful! My compliments to the manager, Katrina, and the rest of the dedicated and caring staff. Thank you!

The room was pretty nice, but definitely could’ve been cleaner. Lots of grit and sand throughout the room, especially in the corners. The weatherproofing under the door to the outside was worn away which left a big gap under the door allowing the heat and humidity in causing the room to feel sticky and warmer than I would’ve prefer. The facility had a great vibe though, price was very affordable, the staff was nice and helpful with any questions we had, and overall we really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay there again!

Room was clean, staff courteous and early check was available as 2 different check out times with a fee, was also available. Which it helps with my plans. But my only constructive critique would be the sofa bed need to be steam and the mattress should have a plastic cover to avoid dirt or other stains to get in. I have to flip the mattress to the cleaner side and wipe it.They did bring extra covers, sheets , pillows and blanket. But it had a very good AC and was located by the ice machine and washing machine and dryer. $ 2.00 per wash. Also the dryer. Not bad at all. Really enjoy the microwave and fridge good quality and spacious for the small size and the sink for prepping food was convenient. And the place is secure and clean surroundings. The bathroom was compact but nicely done. We didn’t used the very beautiful pool and bar. Because the purpose of staying was that we traveled from SC to Sarasota for my son’s sport event.

Resort? This was definitely not a resort and the pictures look nothing like in person. Very musty and moldy smell. Grounds in terrible shape...pool closed...Manager not friendly at all. No clean towels were provided for our second night stay... deplorable conditions inside the room and around the hotel

I liked the ample parking and wide spaces. I appreciated there was a bar on the premises. The room smelled ok, no annoying air fresheners. The amenities were adequate and while bare bones, did have spots of quirky upgrades, retro-style refrigerator and microwave. That being said, it would take a degree in electrical engineering to figure out how the AC and microwave worked.

The room was damp all the time. There was a musty smell to it. A switch flipped at some point and caused the fridge power to go out which melted the icecream we had bought. The housekeeping was all over for times of day and even after requesting a sheet change it took multiple days to complete. There was a lack of house keeping tidying or entering the room to change out towels. The TV only has basic channels and there isn't connectivity for watching anything but what is on. Wi-Fi was good. Staff was polite. The room looked nice on day one. I would not stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights. First room, 101, smelled like a sewer. Asked for a different room. None available. Identified shower drain as source of stench and plugged it and tried to ventilate room. Went to check out in morning, but was offered room 116. This room was fine. Would not chance staying ever again.
