I stayed at Golden Host host several different times prior to the pandemic lockdown. It was always a very good motel with a helpful staff. This current stay at the motel was my first time in 7 years. And Golden Host has improved in every way...the updated rooms with delightful art deco refrigerator and microwave, very comfortable bedding, a large flat screen television, a major facelift to the lobby, the pool and the patio tables and chairs, and a staff that is there for all your needs. Also, the Bahi Hut bar is as good as ever...and now has the addition of a night of karaoke, two nights of live music and an evening of drag bingo...all delightful! My compliments to the manager, Katrina, and the rest of the dedicated and caring staff. Thank you!

The room was pretty nice, but definitely could’ve been cleaner. Lots of grit and sand throughout the room, especially in the corners. The weatherproofing under the door to the outside was worn away which left a big gap under the door allowing the heat and humidity in causing the room to feel sticky and warmer than I would’ve prefer. The facility had a great vibe though, price was very affordable, the staff was nice and helpful with any questions we had, and overall we really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay there again!

Unfortunately, my husband and I were unable to use the pool or Tiki bar as it they were reserved for a Private Party (wedding). I booked the Golden Host because of the pool and Florida's oldest Tiki bar. If the hotel had told me either when booking or at least at Check-in, I would have been able to make other plans. The hotel makes use of Text messages and could have easily informed us prior to 10 minutes before shutting down the pool. We then walke to the Tiki bar only to find it too had been reserved for a Private (wedding) party. Only 2 amenities on site and we were unable to use either. Luckily, later in the evening we were able to sit outside by the pool and met two other couples who also felt 'slighted' by the lack of communication. The rooms have been updated and I would give that 8 points as there is No toilet tissue holder, . And although the room had a mini fridge and microwave as well as a kitchen sink, there were no towels or dish liquid. In the lobby, you can get breakfast, although this was never mentioned; nor any signage. A little more thought and this hotel could be an enjoyable stay.

Clean, quaint motel with pool and tiki bar. Close to lots of food and entertainment. Very reasonable rate. I had no issues during my stay, but my neighbor had 2 minor issues and stafd fixed them within the hour. Staff was very pleasant and interactive. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The room. We complained about our first room having a broken dresser, dirty floor and musty bathroom. They switched our room but the second room had issues also (the desk was broken and the bathroom had a bit of a sewer gas smell). We did not complain a second time. Other than that our stay was fine.

Room was clean, staff courteous and early check was available as 2 different check out times with a fee, was also available. Which it helps with my plans. But my only constructive critique would be the sofa bed need to be steam and the mattress should have a plastic cover to avoid dirt or other stains to get in. I have to flip the mattress to the cleaner side and wipe it.They did bring extra covers, sheets , pillows and blanket. But it had a very good AC and was located by the ice machine and washing machine and dryer. $ 2.00 per wash. Also the dryer. Not bad at all. Really enjoy the microwave and fridge good quality and spacious for the small size and the sink for prepping food was convenient. And the place is secure and clean surroundings. The bathroom was compact but nicely done. We didn’t used the very beautiful pool and bar. Because the purpose of staying was that we traveled from SC to Sarasota for my son’s sport event.

Don’t let the description of this place fool you there is no restaurant. They said there is one going in this weekend.3/7:26. The rooms don’t look as fresh or the other accommodations by what the pictures show and in my opinion, the neighborhood seems a little sketchy. Unless you ask them not to, you will have room service come in in the morning, What surprised me was after our first night there we made sure our curtains were closed. We went out for the day when we got back. Our curtain was opened a bit so we knew someone had been in our room. I could’ve sworn it said housekeeping upon request and I had left some things out that if I knew someone was coming in my room would’ve been put away. I’m talking jewelry, cash, etc. They didn’t make the bed they pulled it up like I could’ve done and they emptied one of the full garbage containers not both? And they didn’t leave any new fresh towels? So why come in the room in the first place? The only reason I gave them three stars is because on Thursday night we had the best time in the tiki bar. It would’ve been nice if they served food, but we did order a pizza that got delivered right there by the suggestion of the bartenders and it was so delicious. The bartenders were a riot! Made you feel very comfortable. They offered two free drinks for your stay, but they choose you don’t. You have a choice of three. Stay again? If I had to. But, if the bartenders were working, I definitely would stop in there to say hello!
