It's a very solid, slightly-above-average Japanese hotel. Rooms are compact but well appointed, ammenities are nice. It's a bit let-down by being overly-fussy, with the lounge area on the basement level being closed at 1am, even though it's the only area to congregate in the hotel. With no rooms on that level or the first floor, noise can't be an issue... They just don't want people to be able to sit down if their room is not an option (like needing to take an overseas work phone call when your partner is trying to sleep). Likewise, I understand that the baths must close at 1am for "cleaning," but I wish they were open later (or all night) like other premium hotel chains. All in all, it was a nice experience and I would stay there again, but I'd also look around to see if the other hotels in the same range/class were a bit less uptight.

Very walkable and the best beds

The best hotel Ive stayed at during my time in Japan. The bed was comfortable, the service was excellent. Best sleep Ive had in Japan! The bathroom in my room was only a shower, but they have a shared bath in the lower level. Being directly between Odori Park and the Factory shopping center made the location immensely walkable!

Great Location in Sapporo

This was one of our favorite hotels in Japan. The room was very comfortable. Hotel is in a great location. Easy access to restaurants, shopping, and the metro. No bathtub. No coffee in the lobby. I think all hotels should offer coffee in the lobby. They have a cool “pillow bar” where you can pick your own pillow. After an awful, flat pillow in Tokyo, it was nice to be able to pick out a more supportive pillow for our 3 night stay. Hotel staff was helpful and it was a really nice stay.

The hotel is excellent. The location is great and quiet. It is like 8 mins walk the JR station and also 10 mins walk to the TV towel. The staffs are wonderful and super friendly. We like the bath a lot. The breakfast is good but not great.

Hotel rooms are generally small in Japan. However, this was slightly bigger than the room I had in Tokyo. I also like how the voltage and sockets work with American devices. The hotel has a public bath, where you bathe with other men. It was a first for me and I made a few mistakes in japanese bathing etiquette. I got some stares but nobody yelled at me. The hotel is about 8 minutes walk from Sapporo station. There is also an underground walkway, if the weather is bad. Sapporo is quite small, so most every place was within walking distance for me. It’s a also a very beautiful city with lovely parks.

Hotel rooms were pretty normal. I like the set up of the bathroom "nook" with separate doors for the toilet and shower.Only thing I found weird was how firm the pillows were. There's an interesting section on the main floor where you can customize your pillows, but for some reason by the time I would go to try to get a softer pillow, all the options were taken. The amenities are super nice though, there's a lounge area with a small library of books, tables with seating or soft casual seating available. Low lights and the smell of the spa on that level give it a relaxing vibe. There's coin laundry and vending machine on that floor as well. Spa area itself is nice and relaxing. To foreigners, tattoos are not permitted in the spa area. The hotel has its own area for parking. There is another JR Inn Sapporo a few blocks away, do not get them confused. This one is Sapporo SOUTH!! The restaurant attached was super yummy and convenient. Order your food on the ticket machines in the evening hours. I recommend the gyudon! In the morning you can buy a breakfast coupon at the front desk, the restaurant has around 4 sets you can choose from, one western style breakfast and three traditional breakfast. The portion sizes are perfect no matter what set you choose. Unlimited hot and iced coffee, water, juice provided. Food itself was alright but cannot complain for 1000¥ and convenience. Great location, few minutes away from the Clock tower and the TV tower, as well as the shopping mall.
