Wala Boca Chica has very clean rooms and friendly, easygoing staff who are willing to accommodate guests. The onsite gift shop is equipped with everything that vendors sell on the beach, at very reasonable prices. The food is an eclectic mix of Asian & Dominican fusion. Great vacation at a price that won't break the bank.

Never again! Can’t relax on the beach cause you’re constantly getting harassed by street vendors, the rooms are dirty and the sheets were unspeakable, the pool was dirty with so much human hair and the flies on the food they serve was absolutely disgusting!

I had An amazing time here for my birthday vacation. There is a lot of friendly staff, unfortunately I didn’t realize that your braclet doesn’t work for all the restaurants except the buffet. Literally the only downside was the buffet food and everything else was amazing.

I have stayed at every resort between Boca Chica and Juan Dolio, and i would rate this one at the top. Whala! is by no means a Punta Cana quality resort, but it was ok for a short stay. This is definitely an attractive destination for locals. I would estimate that during my stay, more than 90% of the guests were locals. The check-in processes was probably the worse experience during my stay. It was slow and hot. But the limited staff were friendly. The food was better than the other resorts in the area, even the buffet. However, selections are very limited. The italian restaurant was good, not great. The beer quality was ok, and the wine not so much. I recommend bringing your own bottle of something. My room was a waterfront and it had an excellent view. Bed quality was so so, bedding cheap, and refrigerator only comes with 2 bottles of water that are not replenished. The expectation is for guests to take a water pitcher down to the hallway water dispenser and take it back to the room. That's not my thing. Housekeeping was magnificent. All in all, it is not a luxury stay, but if you are in the Santo Domingo area and want a couple days on the beach, this might be a good place to do that. But beware, there may be a lot of kids making some noise.

No pensé que boca chica tendría resort todo incluido. Fue sorpresa para mi. La verdad nuestra estadía fue OK. No la gran cosa. Todo el resort necesita un update. Lo que sí me gustó es que está prácticamente en la playa.

A one-star hotel cannot pretend to be a three-star one. The food was a disaster, especially in a country known for its excellent cuisine like the Dominican Republic. This hotel does not represent the country at all in terms of food: the menu is very limited, and they don’t even have something as simple as cream cheese or jjelly for the bread. The rooms are run-down, look extremely old, and there’s a bad smell in certain areas. The bathrooms are full of mold, and there are no towels available at the pool or the beach. Guests are even inconvenienced by having to go all the way to the front desk to request towels. For the price I paid, it was a complete disappointment. I will never return, and I do not recommend it at all.

This is gonna be the greatest value you were ever have because you’re not going to find all you can eat and drink right on the beach and the ocean view. It’s just a very old property and it’s like staying at a Holiday Inn on the beach is the best way I could Describe this, but I don’t think many people care you just want to have a great beach and a beautiful ocean with a great view it’s very affordable. I was just passing through one night and stayed there, but I would definitely go back but I’m used to staying in five star Resorts.

Check in process is unorganized, slow, they only have two computer that te staffhas to share. My firts room had to be change due to bed bug, i showed the video and all they did was change my room not discount and no accommodation dispaite me telling them how frustrated for making me wait almos an hour to check in and having to deal with the bed bug, manager didn come out to talk to me nor i got an apologies The food on the first two night was ok but the rest of my stay ir felt it was the same, too many flies around the food. AC barely worked , roof was leaking.. The outside the room were always clean thats about it, the yard, stairs
