The room was clean and comfortable but very outdated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh, but would like better fruit options. Location was quiet yet convenient to downtown and very walkable.

I really can’t recommend Las Palomas highly enough. Everything was perfect. The staff were impeccable and always willing to help. The breakfasts were fantastic. I would definitely stay here again. It was all topped off by my deceased mother’s favourite poem bring above the sink in our room.

In no particular order… The rooms are dark, dingy, and dirty. The paint color is drab The ceilings are maybe 7’-0”. The height of a door plus the molding. Average ceiling height in a home is 8’-0”. Newer and nicer places are 9’ or 10’. The low ceiling makes everything worse. There are screws and nails left in the walls and doors and are sticking out / painted over. The staff, while friendly enough, doesn’t seem to be well trained. They didn’t know how to stop the red light from flashing on my phone and suggested I unplug it. They didn’t know how to dim or turn off the incredibly bright light on the air conditioner. I was told there’s a button on the remote, except I have a different remote in my room. Then I was told one of the maintenance guys was literally pressing every button on the remote trying to figure out how to do this. When that failed, they opted for taping over the light. No one even bothered to tidy the cords from table lamps. Wherever someone painted a wall, they got paint on everything else. How about taping off or removing things so you avoid getting paint on the towel bar or the adjacent wall. The shower curtain rod was installed too low, so the shower curtain is on the floor of the tub. The rod was also not installed properly. Clearly something else had been hanging there, but no one bothered to fill in or replace the tiles. The bathroom ceiling and fan are filthy. The kitchen is a joke. Staff is very friendly. Bed was comfortable. Room was in bad condition - torn/broken screens, weird brown gunk on toiletry container, loud refrigerator. Room was directly on road/sidewalk, so there was zero privacy and felt unsafe. There is a little "stream" in the courtyard that is in such bad condition that the pumps were sucking air, leaves were clogging the drains, and the water in the stream was just gross and brown. Why have this when it is not going to be maintained? Room HVAC was off when I arrived on a hot day, room was hot and stuffy and took hours to cool down to a reasonable temperature. It's such a weird place - they have a code-locked door from the parking lot to where the rooms are, but on the street/sidewalk side, there is a rickety little picket fence that anyone can walk through and enter the same area. On my first morning there, a random man was sitting directly underneath my bedroom window in the courtyard, mumbling, and when he saw me he exited quickly, mumbling. Why do they have a code-locked gate at all when there is zero security on the road side of the site. Overall, the charm of the place is so faded and worn, ill-cared for, and unsecure that I won't stay here again. No shade on the staff, but something is really wrong with the place and its management that can't be fixed without significant investment.

Rooms were very clean. But dark. Nice sheets but the mattress was sloping to the middle. Bathrooms are very small without a lot of space for toiletries. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was homemade and excellent! Good coffee. Welcoming breakfast area and cozy seating.

Casita in Santa Fe

We stayed at Las Palomas 3 nights last week. We had a good stay in a one bedroom Casita. Our #14 casita was spacious in an adobe in a shady grouping of casitas. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the casita was very clean, good AC, the decor was dated and a bit funky for my tastes. We try to stay in hotels or Airbnb properties that "feel" like the area we are visiting with a good location; not a standard hotel room. My biggest complaint was how dark it was inside; this could be because the windows were few and small, property was shady, lamps had dark shades, it was an older structure with no overhead lighting except the dim fan. All the units seem to be different so maybe it was just our casita. Our kitchen was small and the microwave didn't work. We enjoyed our breakfasts at the on-site dining room and went out for dinner anyway -all short walks! The included breakfast, location and staff were amazing! I have never encountered such happy staff who seemed to enjoy working and serving their guests.
