Upon check-in, our keys did not work and had to go back down and get them rescanned. There were other people in line with the same problem. The wi-fi never worked throughout the trip, despite 3 visits to the front desk to try and rectify the situation. The property sits right next to John Wayne Airport so you hear every plane taking off/landing. Construction started at 5:30am outside of the hotel. The remote control didn't work only to find out that it was missing a battery and a case cover (maintenance DID come and replace this right away). One of the queen beds sunk in the middle (almost as if the box springs were shot). There are NO toiletries provided other than a bar of soap. There was a weird smell in the room that we could never get to go away despite purchasing air freshener and their A/C was not working properly.
We used this property as an inexpensive way for us to stay in town for a basketball tournament. After the first night, we decided to eat the cost and drive back home. I had booked the property two days later when the tournament resumed and we immediately canceled our reservation to take something nicer.
I've stayed in Motel 6's before in my life and knew it would be a "budget option." But, I never anticipated this many hiccups.
