The host did his very best with what he had to work with...which was NOTHING. The tray of 'breakfast food' were two granola bars EXPIRED in September '25 and a small orange. He offered my sister traveling with me a bottle of "Victoria's Secret Body lotion", which we declined. (?) The ceiling tiles from 1950s were falling from water damage. NO WINDOW OPENED, which prevented any attempt to reduce the REEK of Febreeze. Old paint was falling from the bathroom ceiling. Tissue stuffed in a hole in the painted-over bath window. DEAD TRUCK FULL OF OLD CEILING TILES(sitting at least 3 months from the debris blown against all tires) AND MINIVAN with 2flats were the only vehicles in the parking lot other than 2 water tank trucks. NO LATCH on the door. It only locked with the keyed bolt. WHOEVER OWNS THE PROPERTY had to lie to BUDGET Inns to get that new sign out front. We looked for the host, but finally left the key on the counter as directed, closed the door after taking a video of the room, and left town, finding a room in Marathon. Sanderson is going ghost town, in severe decline. I AM ASKING FOR A FULL REFUND.

The man who checked us in was very nice. I felt that a fee of $15 each for two small dogs was excessive considering the condition of the motel itself. The grounds were ill maintained with extensive weeds. The room itself was a mess!! The toilet wobbled when sat on. Both the sink and bathtub had paoer cups on place to collect drips from thevl faucets. The heating device was okay, however. If one wanted to use the microwave or fridge one had to unplug the heater as the only four plugs were occupiied by the

This was the perfect stop on my way into Big Bend NP. Danny was a great host and greeted me with much needed water and snacks after a long drive from ATX. The room was clean and comfortable and met my needs since I was only looking for a place to rest between days at the park.

The personal touch

Although my travel was delayed causing us to arrive at 3:30 AM, I was in constant contact with the staff. Upon arrival, I was kindly greeted by the staff at the Budget Inn and was even offered a modest snack to take to the room. The property is somewhat old and lacked a few amenities such as electrical plugs but the room was clean and in proper working order for a quick in and out overnight stay. It was obvious that the manager took pride in providing the best possible service and experience. I’ll take that any day! If you’re in the area, preferably during normal business hours, you might just have to stop in and say hello to Benny.

Friendly service at a dated facility

The Budget Inn in Sanderson is an affordable, somewhat dated motel. What makes this place worthwhile is the manager, Danny. He is friendly, engaging, and inquisitive. He brought fresh snacks to my room. The room was clean. The downside items: noisy air conditioner and dim lighting. My trip was solo and for business, so this was the right choice, and I would choose The Budget Inn again.
