This hotel is a beautiful property located in an amazing town. The property is immaculate, well maintained and very comfortable. We love the minimalist aspect of the room including the pleasing absence of a television. The staff is very professional and very helpful. Each days activities required a box lunch and each day this was ready for us before we left no matter how early. 5-stars for this property.

Highly recommend, for many reasons.

San Pedro de Atacama has a bustling dusty and active tourist center of 4 or 5 blocks by 4 or 5 blocks....This hotel is just outside the busy center, but very walkable and a welcome respite from the busyness...Hotel La Casa de San Tomas, and the added Refugio, offer a very peaceful and pleasing place to be once one has been to the town center or gone on an excursion to the surrounding natural beauty locations. The rooms are modern and large, many with beautiful views. The breakfast and dinner food is excellent, and all three meals are available. The front desk staff is very helpful.

The staff are excellent , both helpful and friendly. The restaurant is far above what you would expect in such an outpost . The location is a short walk from the centre, and it allows it to sit like an oasis of calm if that’s what your looking for.. we all found it relaxing after taking tours off site in the local area.

New addition to Don Tomas property (Refugio) is a little bit further from main street, very cozy, modern, relaxing and clean. convenient parking area is added bonus!

Calm and new!

We stayed in the new Refugio (to be mentioned when organising transport to excursions and the airport). A bit away from the busy centre, with a beautiful view of the volcanoes. All day soft drinks available at reception including a professional coffee machine. Facilities new, super clean, highly professional staff. The bed was huge and the bathroom, especially the shower excellent.

Great modern hotel, mediocre restaurant

Fantastic hotel. Great customer service and away from the busy centre of San Pedro. Lacked some amenities such as a fridge and television but not really an issue as we were out everyday for activities. The external approach needs paving but this maybe done later as an extension seems in progress. The restaurant really does not match the standard of the hotel. There is limited choice for vegetarians and vegans other than Pasta or Salad. Similarly, the breakfast has limited hot food options.

Perfect stay

Very nice property and everyone was very friendly. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Prepared breakfast for our early departure (4:30 am for Geysers del Tatio). Would definitely recommend this property!
