I was looking forward to our stay, but things started off poorly. Earlier in the week, I called to confirm if we could arrive early, get a pool card, and relax while waiting for our room so I could work. I was told, “Of course!” However, upon arrival Friday, the front desk said they couldn’t give me pool access and would text when the room was ready. No exceptions. My kids were disappointed, my husband took them to the beach, and I worked in my car until I got a text at 3 PM — by then my laptop was dead.
That evening at 8:30 PM, I got a call from the front desk saying the guest below complained about “stomping.” I have two kids, but we weren’t stomping, and it was only 8:30 PM. This made me paranoid for the rest of the trip, telling my kids to tiptoe.
The property is well kept, with older bathrooms and refrigerators but very clean considering all the dogs and children. Breakfast was great — fresh eggs, sausages, and make-your-own waffles. The breakfast area is spacious with board games, the pool is nicely heated, and the fire pit is lovely for morning coffee or evening wine.
Overall, the staff was available but not especially warm or friendly. Between the denied early access, the noise complaint, and the overall service, I’d give this property 3/5.
