Loved how close to Torrey Pines Golf Course

Pros: The view of golf course and the ocean. The patio with fire pit.
Cons: Cost of parking our car. The California taxes are ridiculous. Come on people! Elect a new governor. Taxes are killing you!
We enjoyed our time at the Hilton! We had a great view - part golf course and ocean. A beautiful setting. Within walking distance to Torrey Pines Lodge. My husband played both courses. The Hilton was great -- food and drink and sitting out on patio by fire pit watching the sunset. My ONLY compliant is the parking fee!!!!! $30 a day to self park our car. All the California taxes were terrible! Being charged for the minimum wage increase! All those taxes are being passed on to us the consumer. Wake up and elect a conservative governor.

We had a lovely stay at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. Our room was large and had a beautiful pool and even ocean view. The fire pit seating areas were beautiful and relaxing to sit around in the evening. We ate one breakfast and one dinner at the on site restaurant. In the future, I'd just have breakfast and go elsewhere for other meals. Overall though, we loved it and plan to stay there for future trips to the area.

A Great Stay

Pros: We really liked the fact that you could be driven to the lodge next door with a golf cart and have full access to their services.
Cons: The hotel is short staffed in the pool area for cocktails, there are any servers !!
Location: Brilliant and perfect!!
Arrived to an older complex that has been completely revamped to a very pleasing degree. Loved the room and services, centrally located and the price was just right.

Good solid experience

I usually stay at the Lodge and made a mistake when I was booking. I had been to several conferences at the Hilton so was familiar with it. I am accustomed to the isolation of Torrey Pines without a car. The person I went with was not and found the stay more difficult because if you dont eat at the Lodge or the Hilton then you need a cab which is typically $25 one way for the very short trip to LaJolla or Del Mar. I love Torrey Pines because the State Park is beautiful and I enjoy the proximity. The room was spacious. The bed a bit firm for my taste but I am not usually a Hilton-phile. I got a very nice price and had 2 nice meals, one in the bar and one in the restaurant at a reasonable price. Was able to go to the Lodge twice which is magnificent. There is a frequent short bus ride to Del Mar which was very nice and stopped outside the Hilton. I always have something to say about the gym. I was able to go next door to the Scripps gym which is state of the art one day and stayed in the Hilton gym twice. The Hilton gym was clean everything was working the individual tvs all were working, but the channels were limited. No luxury but not a luxury price. Absolutely I would go back if I was trying to save on housing. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful. I felt safe and service was excellent in both restaurants.

Beautiful Views, Very Nice Room

I can't think of a single thing that I would change, other than the feather pillows I hate. Most Hilton properties use them and it is always an easy task to order up replacements when I forget to tell them when making reservations. We didn't have the best view in the hotel by any means, but it was absolutely Gorgeous, with the Torrey Pines golf course and Pacific ocean just outside our spacious lanai. The bed was nice, the bathroom was huge and laid out nicely. It had a huge shower, though no tub, plenty of room with top quality soaps, ect. The room included all the normal upscale stuff, safe, ironing implements, refrigerator, large LCD TV, etc. It is a bit of a drive to offsite restaurants and the beach, but La Jolla village is charming and has lots of great places to eat. Over all this Hilton is a very quiet and relaxing location and beautiful property. We will be staying there again on trips to the San Diego area.

A great value, fun for the family.

Pros: Quiet
Cons: parking $22 per day. no other parking options
Great location, close to local surf spots. Upscale feel, comfortable beds, spacious room for a family of four. Hall way leading to room was dirty. Room was clean enough if you don't look to closely. Nice fitness center and pool. I would return. We were visiting over a holiday, perhaps that is why areas were not as clean as they could be.

Nice if you want to be near golf course, but lots of extra expenses.

Pros: Quiet, comfortable spacious rooms, balcony
Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, expensive extra charges to park, no free breakfast
This hotel was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. There was a lovely garden view balcony in our room.My main issue was that parking, internet, breakfast...everything was extra. I suppose I would understand paid parking if it was in a big city but this place is rather out of the way. We were too hungry to explore the grounds in the morning and we only stayed one night so perhaps this hotel would be more worth the price and extras if it was a destination place for a golf holiday or something. Besides the extra changes, I liked the hotel, it was a pretty and comfortable place to stay. La Jolla is a nice vacation spot!
