House in the heart of the Cévennes - Village center

The old family home was converted into comfortable cottage for 7 to 10 people and equipped for babies and children.

Ideally located in the village center, shops, playgrounds and the river are within walking distance. Hiking paths also go directly from the village.

Enjoy this cottage built on three levels. It combines modern comfort and charm of the old family home.
On the ground floor: the delivery, bathroom and WC
1st floor: kitchen, living room fireplace, large living room and terrace
2nd floor: 3 bedrooms and a shower room with WC


Holy Cross is a small village of 300 inhabitants nestled in the heart of the French Valley. The river "Gardon" and through the covered bridge connecting the two banks is the nerve center of the village.

Side shopping: Located in the village center, the cottage is close to all amenities. The village has a bakery, a butcher, a supermarket, an organic supermarket and a fishmonger passes on Friday morning.
Supermarkets are located in Anduze or Ales.
A market offering handicrafts and local produce takes place every Sunday morning on the deck.
Culinary: Coffee "The Globe" very friendly, also offers pizzas on a wood fire every night in summer and on Saturday night the rest of the year.
The coffee shop "La Baraka" offers varied menus and served on a pretty terrace overlooking the river in the summer or before a beautiful wood stove in winter.
The "The oultre" restaurant, only open in summer, serves local dishes in tasting two terraces overlooking the river.

Side services & Sports: The village has a post office and a pharmacist-physician who consults on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 12pm.
A gas pump is in service 24h / 24h in the village.
The tourist office is open Tuesday, Sunday morning.
A tennis court (renovated in 2018), a wall and a ping-pong table are free access to the entrance of the village. A large playground "round" offers a sports ground (football and basketball), table tennis and skate ramps.

ein wunderschöner Urlaub

Das Haus hat viel Charme und Geschichte. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und bietet wirklich Platz für bis zu 10 Personen am Tisch. Das Wohnzimmer ist geräumig und gemütlich. Wir haben fast jeden Tag auf der netten Terrasse gefrühstückt und gegessen. Es gibt auch einen tollen Grill auf der Terrasse. Das Haus liegt mitten im Dorf: der Bäcker (der köstliche Obsttörtchen und Kuchen anbietet) ist direkt nebenan. Gegenüber im Cafe "Le Globe" gibt es sehr leckere hausgemachte Pizza. Ausserdem gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt, einen Bio-Laden, in dem man frischgemahlenen Kaffee bekommt und einen Metzger im Dorf. Sonntags ist Markt direkt unten in der Strasse vor dem Haus. Neben dem Café Globe gibt es noch zwei weitere Restaurants im Dorf. Eins davon haben wir besucht: sehr gute Küche und nettes Ambiente! Den Tennisplatz des Dorfes ist in einem sehr guten Zustand.

Très bon séjour

La maison est très agréable, très bien équipée, fonctionnelle, agréablement meublée et décorée. La petite terrasse et les jeux pour enfants sont un vrai plus ! (Le seul petit bémol : pour les personnes qui mesurent plus de 1m85, les lits sont un peu trop petits.) Quant aux Cevennes : un enchantement !

Lovely Location für a Two-week family escape beyond stress and civilisation. We loved it. A charismatic building together with anything a Family with two small children needs (bbq, toys etc).

gîte très agréable et confortable

Nous avons passés un très bon séjour à Sainte Croix vallée française. Ce petit village est très animé! Concernant le gîte, beaucoup de jouets sont mis à disposition pour les enfants, c'est très appréciable. Le seul point noir concerne les bruits de la rue qui nous ont empêchés de dormir.

Agréable séjour

Nous avons séjourné dans ce gîte pour le réveillon de la St Sylvestre 2016-2017. La maison est spacieuse et très bien équipée au niveau sanitaires, rangements et matériel ( rien ne manque notamment pour les enfants/bébés!!!!!) et les propriétaires sont très accueillants. Bonne situation au centre du village donc à proximité des commerces. Une terrasse bien protégée sur le derrière qui doit être agréable aux beaux jours (en hiver, nous n'avons pas pu bien sûr en profiter...) Des points un peu moins positifs: la maison donnant sur une ruelle, il y a peu de lumière et pas de vue ( mais cela ne nous a pas gênés pour ce court séjour ) et l'isolation phonique n'étant pas très bonne, on entend dans les chambres les conversations du salon... Question hébergement, la maison est parfaite pour un groupe de 7 adultes ( ce qui était notre cas ) Par contre, dans la troisième chambre les lits peuvent accueillir deux enfants mais ne sont pas assez larges pour deux adultes. En conclusion, le tarif de la location étant très avantageux, nous avons trouvé le rapport qualité-prix satisfaisant et cela nous a tout à fait convenu pour fêter l'arrivée de la nouvelle année ;-)

Séjour inoubliable dans un gîte atypique des Cévennes

Gîte exceptionnel, tout confort, avec tout à disposition (il ne manque vraiment rien). Le gîte est parfaitement équipé pour accueillir 10 personnes, avec une grande table dans la cuisine pour dîner tous ensemble! La cheminée est un grand réconfort après de longue balade dans le parc national des Cévennes. Situé dans un petit village de la Vallée Française, ce gîte est idéal pour se retrouver entre amis et s'isoler dans le monde rural, loin de la ville. Le cadre est incroyable, particulièrement en automne (à mon avis) avec des couleurs diverses et variées. Nous avons eu un coup de coeur pour ce petit coin de paradis. Très bonne communication avec la famille Litrol: disponible et rapide pour les échanges de mails. En résumé, ce gîte est parfaitement conforme aux photos et descriptif de l'annonce abritel. Nous avons vraiment passé un weekend inoubliable dans les Cévennes, le gîte y en étant pour beaucoup. C'est pourquoi je le recommande à 100 % et je mets 5 étoiles (facilement) pour la qualité des prestations. Un GRAND merci à la famille Litrol.
