Old farmhouse restored with lots of character, for lovers of old stones, in the heart of the countryside, close to a lively village and just 29 km from Lyon.
In a privileged setting, with a 360° panoramic view, a peaceful stay in the middle of fields and no neighbors.
One wing of the building is available to rent, and the other wing is my second home, so you will have sole use of the property and its garden.
The decoration is in harmony with the charm of the place.

Relaxing time in the mountains near Lyon

Perfect location for enjoying a holiday in a comfortable house with beautiful surroundings, nearby farm animals, good walks and interesting villages (with lots of entertainment like festivals, exhibitions, cinemas, cafés etc.). Not to forget the big city on the doorstep. Frédéric is a very friendly host.

Beautiful country cottage

We wanted a place close to Lyon to use as a starting point for a tour of the Massif Central. La Rafiliere fit the bill perfectly. The countryside in April was gorgeous and the house was clean and comfortable. Our only disappointment was not meeting the donkeys!

Our family of 5 and small dog truly enjoyed our stay in this updated country home. Every detail has been thought of to make the stay memorable. Frederic was very helpful and accommodating even though we spoke no French. The nearby city of Saint Martin en Haut had plenty to do for a day and 1/2 before exploring Lyon about 30 minutes away. We walked to the medieval city of Rochefort and enjoyed two restaurants with wonderful French cuisine. We highly recommend this property and the area for a unique look into the country life. Amazing vistas also.

Our first negative experience on a trip abroad. Was informed of additional costs for linen and cleaning long after booking and payments were made. No coffee, no soap or shampoo, Mice droppings and visuals, leaky roof and the Pillows were well, more like a seat cushion. Certainly not money well-spent.

TrÚs bon séjour dans les monts du Lyonnais

Nous avons passé un trÚs bon week-end dans la ferme de Frédéric. La procédure d'arrivée s'est déroulée sans accrocs. Le salon et les chambres sont authentiques et bien équipées avec soin. Seul petit bémol : les toilettes qui ne sont accessibles qu'en passant par une chambre. Frédéric a su se montrer réactif et disponible et a rapidement répondu à tous nos messages. Je recommande !

Tout s’est passĂ© Ă  merveille! Merci FrĂ©dĂ©ric pour ces belles vacances! On Ă©tait triste de quitter ce beau petit coin de repos entourĂ© par une magnifique nature. IdĂ©al pour les vacances en nature avec notre chien, loin des sentiers battus. Tout ce qu’on souhaitait 😊 Tout Ă©tait trĂšs propre! Un petit point d’amĂ©lioration serait l’amĂ©nagement du jardin ainsi que des meubles de jardins pour pouvoir profiter pleinement de l’environnement. C’est avec plaisir qu’on reviendra trĂšs bientĂŽt!

Ein wunderbares Haus

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist renoviert, aber der alte, ursprĂŒngliche Charakter ist dabei nicht verlorengegangen. Die einfache Ausstattung der Aussenmöbel passt zum Stil des Hauses und ist daher nicht störend (zumal die BĂ€nke ĂŒberraschend bequem waren). Wir werden gerne einen weiteren Urlaub dort verbringen

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus in wunderbarer Umgebung

Sehr schön gelegenes renoviertes Ferienhaus, liebevoll eingerichtet. Den kleinen Ort St. Martin-en-Haut kann man gut zu Fuß erreichen und in der NĂ€he gibt es tolle Wanderwege. FrĂ©dĂ©ric ist ein sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, wir haben an diesem schönen Ort einen tollen Familienurlaub verbracht. / Maison de vacances rĂ©novĂ©e et trĂšs bien situĂ©e, amĂ©nagĂ©e avec soin. Le petit village de St Martin-en-Haut n'est pas loin de la maison, on peut en aller Ă  pied et il y a de superbes sentiers de randonnĂ©e Ă  proximitĂ©. FrĂ©dĂ©ric est un hĂŽte trĂšs gentil, nous avons passĂ© de superbes vacances en famille dans ce bel endroit.

Prachtige omgeving, ideaal voor wandelaars/ fietsers

Twee weken gelogeerd in het mooie, oude authentieke huis van FrĂ©dĂ©ric. Inrichting is smaakvol en compleet. Tijdens ons verblijf allerlei weertypes meegemaakt: onweer en buien en prachtig wandelweer. Het landschap is vriendelijk net als de mensen die er wonen. De natuur was prachtig, heel veel bloemen stonden in bloei ( begin juni) De tuin is heerlijk om daar te eten en om in de zon te zitten. St Martin en Haut is dichtbij en er is een wandelpad waardoor je de auto niet hoeft te pakken : je bent in korte tijd in het dorp. ( neem het paadje meteen achter het huis om een stukje af te snijden ) Tip: bezoek daar even het Maison de Pays , de vriendelijke dame daar helpt je graag met wandel of fietskaarten om de omgeving optimaal te kunnen ontdekken. Wil je naar Lyon, pak de bus in St Martin en laat je rijden naar Gare Gorge de Loupe; daar de metro nemen naar het oude centrum, 1 halte. Op het plein bij de kerk in St Martin en Haut, is een restaurant, voor een lunch of diner. Vergeet de pizzeria La Provençale niet. Hele aardige mensen met heerlijke pizza’s uit de houtoven die heel snel op je bord liggen.
