A truly lovely property which was perfect for our family holiday. There is plenty of space for our family with teens having their own bathrooms and bedrooms. Comfortable beds with excellent linens, extra towels and thoughtful finishing touches.Kitchen was well equipped and lounge cosy but spacious. The swimming pool was great alongside an excellent seating area. Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly with a great knowledge of the area and what to see. We made great friends with their dog Rio, a gentle and calm dog, so well behaved and a delight to be around.Thankyou Dominique and Veronique.

Helpful hosts

Pleasant and well equipped. Very peaceful. Hosts were very helpful and friendly, and spoke good English. Had to ring them to show us the way on arrival, but no problem at all. They live in the big house next door. Their german shepherd dog was an extremely friendly and gentle dog. Kept coming over for a cuddle, but only if we left the gate open. The beds were not very good, and could have had thicker mattresses to be more comfortable. The pool was fine. Able to stand in it anywhere. Overall, not a bad choice.

Charming French Gite

We have just returned from this delightful and well equipped gite in a beautiful rural part of France. Dominique and Veronique are very welcoming and we had a much needed relaxing holiday. A week was really too short but hopefully we will return in the future to enjoy this wonderful gite and surrounding area.

Perfect!

My husband and I rented Dominque and Veronique’s guest house for two weeks in early October. I had high expectations, but this truly exceeded them all. The property was lovely indoors and out. The outdoor had a lovely pool, a charming stone wall and bamboo for privacy and was set in the idyllic Dordogne countryside. Much to my delight, there were two horses and the most charming dog imaginable. The indoors featured thick stone walls from the 1700’s, but also benefited from being modernized perfectly. The architecture was truly lovely with dramatic vaulted ceilings and rustic beams. We entertained friends and family at the house and everyone absolutely loved it. Each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom attached and we had no issues with water pressure or hot water even when six people showered in the mornings. There was also a plancha grill and a covered outdoor dining area as well as the large indoor kitchen table. Every detail of the house was thoughtfully considered. When we arrived, a welcome basket with fresh local vegetables, wine and local preserves awaited us. Our hosts even gave us two bottles of homemade apple juice! I would note that it is important to have a car to fully enjoy the area. We visited medieval villages, castles, caves, wineries, ancient subterranean churches and even took a hot air balloon. This was a trip for my husband’s 50th birthday and we will always have lovely memories of both the house and the breathtaking views of Dordogne. We hope to return soon!

Family Holiday July 2022

Beautiful house. Excellently equipped for family holiday. Everything was working and clean. Located in a very remote and quite area of the beautiful French countryside, a car is essential as closest supermarket is several km away, although there is a small village with a boulangerie within cycling distance. Our children fell in love with the pool. All in all an excellent gite with lovely owners in a superb location. Love every minute.

Fabulous Gite in gorgeous rural setting

Gorgeous rural setting Very comfortable decor in typical Perigordian style Kitchen area was well set out, the outdoor dining area was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the Plancha. One of the best equipped gites we have ever stayed in Property really well maintained Dominique and Veronique were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly Although they were on site they were very unobtrusive and we thoroughly enjoyed our exchanges in both French and English. We all, especially our Grandchildren , loved and made the most of the pool facilities which were a real boon given the recent high temperature. The Gite is in a quiet rural location but is within easy reach of the tourist areas of the Dordogne and Vezere. We were there for 3 weeks and there was more than enough to keep us all engrossed. Dominique and Veronique were brilliant at recommending tourist sites to visit. Although very rural, there were shops within 10 mins by car, and there is a very large Supermarket and other shops within half an hour.

Beautiful Base

In a peaceful rural location, this property is a good base for the region, and a fine place to just sit in the sun (by the pool!) and relax. The property itself is charming, but with every facility for a stress-free holiday. The bathrooms are excellent, all the bedrooms a good size, and the kitchen has all the equipment that you could want. The owners were friendly but discrete - they were there if required but did not intrude. Outside, the pool is lovely, and there were seats and loungers provided. the only 'negative' about the location was that there are no shops or eateries within walking distance, so a car is essential, and several of the closest restaurants were closed for most of our stay (but it was late-September / early October, so 'out of season'). Overall, a very well planned holiday gite - would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay in a beautiful area of the Perigord

The property for our party of four adults provided everything we needed. Private well sized pool - that felt surprisingly warm. Plenty of off-road parking at the property - which is situated in a quiet rural area: but close to sites of interest that cannot be found elsewhere (e.g. prehistoric caves at Rouffignac). Shops and restaurants need to be reached via a short drive. All major sites of the famous Dordogne area are readily reachable, in less than an hour using quiet country roads through beautiful scenery. Dominique & Veronique were excellent hosts (living in the adjoining property) who were attentive and tended to all of our needs: without ever being intrusive in any way. We would be happy to return to this property at some stage in the future, when we next holiday in this area.

A delightful retreat nestled in the countryside.Extreamly peaceful setting designed for relaxation

We had a most enjoyable break in this well thought out property .Double sliding patio doors , dual aspect ,links kitchen indoor dining area directly out onto pool and delightful outdoor covered barbecued ,eating area. We were lucky enough to enjoy very warm weather during our September stay and this outside eating cooking area was perfect. Enhanced by extremely kind and helpful hosts who inhabit the adjacent farmhouse. A really enjoyable holiday stay and would recommend this venue during a warm summer.

Great, relaxing & secluded cottage with swimming pool

We stayed in late May / early June and - other than a few thunderstorms - had a very relaxing & enjoyable time. The owners (Veronique, who speaks a little English, & Dominique, who speaks good English) will meet you to check in as the cottage is on the land of their house It's worth letting them know your expected arrival time when you're en-route. The cottage is well equipped with a full kitchen including all the cookware you could reasonably need, including a Nespresso coffee maker. We loved the covered outdoor cooking & eating area - equipped with a plancha - as you could still eat outside in comfort whatever the weather. The lounge has one large curved sofa - which looks good, though you'd struggle to comfortably seat more than 3 adults - and two armchairs. It's a pleasant space to relax with a book and stays nice and cool - helpful when it's hot outside. One of the three bedrooms is downstairs and has a double bed and - separated by a curtain - twin single beds plus en-suite with a good size walk-in shower, so would suit a family. The other two bedrooms are upstairs, both with double beds & ensuites that have shower enclosures, so enough space & privacy if you have a group of 3 couples. The swimming pool is big enough to do some proper lengths in, which was great for us. It's not heated, so a bit cold when you first get in, but that's soon forgotten about as long as you keep moving! The location is quite remote, so do take a look at Google maps or similar first so you know exactly where you're going - we drove past it on the first go! This does mean it is very quiet despite being next to a road, as there is minimal traffic. The slight downside is that the garden/pool area is next to the road and, although there us a wall people on bike or high cars/vans can see over. The owners have some bamboo growing next to the wall which will improve the privacy over time. A 30-45 minutes drive gives you a large range of sights and activities from kayaking on the Dordogne or Vezere, to caves, chateaux and many, many farmers markets which are well worth checking out. Overall we had a really enjoyable holiday relaxing at the cottage and exploring the area. We would recommend this cottage & the friendly owners :-)
