Picturesque exterior. Rooms were clean but very small. The window with AC hose could not be securely shut - anyone could just push it open. On a busy highway so AC noise was welcome to cover road noise. Convenient to many restaurants and shops and the hot springs.

Great stay! Our room had two ceiling fans plus a large air conditioner. I was quite surprised and impressed. Lovely soap/shampoo/conditioner was provided. The room was fresh and clean. I am always hesitant about motels but this one is great!

The Gateway was very clean and so cute. We booked the Motel the day before for one night and didn’t really plan anything around it. It was so convenient and on the main stretch. We wanted to enjoy the hot springs and the nature around the area. So, we did just that. Perfect for budget travellers who like rustic places. The room was a tad small but it didn’t bother us. I normally don’t sleep well in new places but I slept like a baby in their comfortable bed. They have a cafe business down the stretch that serves free breakfast for Motel guests. 3 options you can pick from. I’m a picky eater and it’s not their fault that I didn’t like it but it’s nice to have of you’re on a budget and don’t mind eating whatever. The highlight for me was the natural soup they had in the room. It was amazing! We wanted to extend for an extra night but the front desk was closed all morning and our desperate calls were never answered and/or returned. By 1100am we left and headed to Golden instead. So, if you’re planning to stay know that the front desk people make their own time and you might not find them when you need them. Otherwise, it a great spot and definitely recommend it 🙂
