Treetop paradise

Went with friends for a reunion week. Everything in the villa was clean, beautiful, working, and comfortable. Decorated to the highest standards so we felt like we were in someone’s home, not an anonymous rental. We were a small group so only used 3 of the bedrooms. The management company made arrangements to pick us up at the airport, bring a rental car to the villa, hire a chef for the evenings we requested, book a private tour of the park. They checked in frequently to see if we needed anything, and were instantly available for our few requests. Our only suggestion would be that the villa have beach chairs and an umbrella for going to more remote beaches that don’t have rental equipment. Also, a larger sun umbrella near the pool. Our chef, maid and concierge were wonderful.

Incredible Property with Exceptional Host

The property and views are stunning and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and main living area are recently renovated and are beautiful and functional. We were hosted by David who acted almost as a personal concierge for us. He was fantastic. Having daily maid service included was a bonus for us and not something we typically get in a vacation rental.

Best family getaway!

Everything about our stay at CASA Vista Azul was amazing. From the daily wildlife experiences right from the home, to the swimming pool, to elevator access for our older family members. Access to local activities were easy thanks to Ricky’s prompt communication and coordination. The house is in close proximity to everything you’ll need to have an amazing trip full of adventure and/or relaxation.

Gorgeous Place!

This home is a place of beauty and peace. Gorgeous view! The pool is delicious. Gorgeous rooms with plenty of space for everyone. The only challenge is the ongoing yard work in yards around the area.

Needs updating and

Cons. It has such potential but the kitchen is In desperate need of updating. It has no air conditioning in the kitchen which makes cooking in it near impossible. The fridge is rusting out and the ice machine no longer works. The oven no longer self ignites so you have to pull out the heavy bottom and manually light. The living room furniture is falling apart and in desperate need of replacement. The roof of the house is completely falling apart. The pool is freezing and the waterfall ino longer works. This pool Needs to be gutted and redone. The elevator does not work as advertised making getting to the pool difficult. Whatever they use to clean is so incredibly strong that it can give you a headache. The toilet in the master bathroom screams every time you flush (this can be quite alarming when using in the middle of the night.) Pros. The view. This house must have been stunning in its day. Such great potential. Monkeys come everyday and were the highlight of our trip. Ricky was amazing to work with and responded quickly to all of our messages. Another pro is the house keepers they work hard making sure you have fresh towels and floors are swept The bedroom air conditioners were amazing. In summary, staff does everything in their power to make sure you have a great stay but now it is time for the owners to do their part by giving that beautiful home the love and attention it needs and deserves. So much potential. This house could be the most desirable house on VRBO!!

Beautiful Home in a Wildlife Superhighway

The house was amazing and in a fantastic location. Ricky was great to work with and provided us with all the information we needed to enjoy the home. Location wise, the house is extremely close grocery stores, restaurants, bars and the park which makes it convienent to take care of anything you may need/want to do. Monkeys are a daily occurrence with most days of our trip delivering at least 2 different kinds. Honestly we saw nearly as much wildlife sitting in the pool as we did walking around Manuel Antonio. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Monkey Magnet

When we pulled up, we were a little skeptical about the place. It is at the very end of a bumpy street. You can put the house name in Google Maps and see exactly where it is (I didn’t know this tip when I was searching for houses before choosing this one- may help you?). The roof is quite dilapidated looking and some of the furniture and appliances on the main level have seen better days. Landscaping overgrown. The elevator does not work, so be prepared for many stairs - the pool is two stories below the entry level. BUT... we ended up liking the place very well, especially for the value. Monkeys come through the trees every morning around 5 am and in the afternoon at 1 and 3. Both white faces and squirrel monkeys came through. They hung around for maybe 10 minutes, long enough for picture taking and making us smile! They did also get into the kitchen somehow one day and eat all of our bananas! Lol. Pool was a great temperature, cooler than we expected- in a good way. Some of the bedrooms were musty smelling, fortunately we didn’t need all of them so chose the best smelling ones. Everything was cleaned well by the housekeeper and lots of towels provided. We only used one of the showers, some are hard to get in and out of so our kids just all used the master. Ac in the bedrooms but not in the kitchen. Each room has different keys/locks which is a little annoying. There is one master bedroom on the first floor down, two bedrooms two floors down, and one bedroom 3 floors down. The other bedroom (bunks) is even lower still, a floor below the pool level. I don’t think this would be a great setup for much younger kids (our youngest was 12). Ricky was very nice and said he’s around every day, he handles all the rentals on the street apparently. He communicates with you through WhatsApp. There is a cellphone in the house you can borrow if you want/need to. Other things to note, it is close to good restaurants (Agua Azul and Cafe Milagro were favorites) but not so close you’d want to walk vs drive. It has no access to a beach, that’s also a drive. Tour guides were happy to pick us up at the house for Manuel Antonio park and the catamaran. Hope this review and tips help you make an informed choice about a house in M. A. We opted to do this vs stay at Tabacon due to the relative cost - we would probably do it again although unlikely to return to the area. People were nice and monkeys and sloths were amazing but the beaches were just “ok”.

Exceeded Expectations

We had a great time at the house. It was our extended family and another couple, 9 guests in all and there was plenty of room. The house has amazing views, great amenities, comfortable, private and amazing wildlife right there at the house. Ricky, who checked us in and out, was the best host ever. He helped us out in too many ways to list here. The in house chef was well worth it. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Home and Perfect Location!

The house was amazing and had everything we could have asked for! You feel like you are located in the rainforest and will see wildlife in the area (Lizards, Monkeys, etc.). We loved the house and couldn't have asked for a better oasis to enjoy when we felt like relaxing at home. The check-in process was a breeze and Ricky was very hospitable!

Beautiful stay.

This is one of the few times when even gorgeous photos don't do a place justice. This home is stunning, with breathtaking views of the rain forest and sea, and every comfort offered. The kitchen is gorgeous and fully outfitted, the bedrooms are beautiful and offer views as well - of the sea, the garden and the jungle. We used the wonderful swimming pool every day. It even has a lap lane and a waterfall. Floating in the grotto area was sublime. Wildlife was abundant. A toucan stopped by the open-air living room because it noticed its reflection in the window, scarlet macaws flew by overhead, and monkeys of every type came by to check in (and steal our bread - don't leave the door to the kitchen open). Ricky and Carmen took great care of our every need. We also arranged a delicious meal at home, prepared by chef Esteban. Ricky arranged for a terrific guide (Gorge), who took us through Manuel Antonio Park, a highlight of the trip. There was some construction going on nearby, as a few homes are being built or renovated along the same road as this house, but it was intermittent and not a big deal. We were here in the shoulder season, so there was rain, but it came and went, along with sunshine, which made for lovely sunsets. We had a car, which came in handy, but you could get by without one, as there are buses that regularly pass on the main road above the house, and great restaurants and coffee shops a short walk away. Just keep in mind that heading up the hill to that road is a bit of a workout. All in all, a wonderful trip and a beautiful place. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were a group of 7. All of us had great rooms with working air conditioners and comfortable beds. The view was stunning!!! We had the chef services and Esteban was the best cook ever! Loved the ribs and the ceviche! Well worth having the chef. Pool area is fantastic. Definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Gorgeous Villa in the heart of the Jungle

We arranged for a 9 people group to attend one of our good friend's wedding in Manuel Antonio. We were pleasantly surprised to see the attention to detail in every aspect of our stay. The large spaces, comfortable couches, chairs, beds, showers and bathrooms made our stay a relaxing one. We enjoyed the lovely pool and pool house, using its amenities most of the days. We were also surprised by the monkeys hanging around the house at times! I havent mentioned the view yet, but I believe it speaks for itself.
