Won’t stay again

The property was once so beautiful, but needs many renovations and had no restaurants open when I stayed. Also house keeping was very poor.

Property is well maintained and pool area. Restaurant and bar are still not open but you can sit in there. There is a beautiful fireplace to sit at and enjoy free wine, coffee and nuts. The view is beautiful and night time view on the dock is wonderful! There is a free breakfast just grab and go, but at least it’s something. Be aware there is no air conditioning….. large windows for fresh air.

Very nice staff. New ownership so many projects still to be done. Bathtub ring. Room otherwise nice. Strangely, music was playing loudly 24/7 in common areas including from speakers at entrance. Staff happily turned it down. Love the fishing history photos ( was there to fish, after all). Likely going to be wonderful when all is done.

The unit that we stayed in was their Tyee House. It’s very spacious although most of the furniture needs updating. The dining table and chairs are wobbly and worn out. The floor carpets are somewhat old & feels eerie.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel which is nestled right along the Northeastern coast with amazing views of the water and wildlife. The property is spacious and well-maintained, our room just lacked bug screens on the windows and A/C but at least had a ceiling fan. Since the hotel had recently reopened and was still partially under renovation, there were no food options available on-site and the pier was closed but the pool was open and staff made an effort to offer snacks and drinks in the morning and afternoon. Downtown Campbell River is also just a 10-mins drive away. Highly recommend views from the hotel terrace of bald eagles flying over you or cruise ships gliding past.

This used to be the prime place to stay in the Campbell River area. The location is still unbeatable, but the property itself is in need of a lot of TLC. Pool was great, but everything else was disappointing. No AC was tough to deal with at night, as fans just cannot cool down the room. Common areas are dirty, and many areas badly needing a coat of paint. We were there July 5-7, but shocked to see both the pub and restaurant were closed. Staff were nice, but the whole place felt under staffed and under cared for. Price is way too steep for what we got for our two night stay - time has taken its toll on the once great Painters Lodge.

The painters lodge had all of their amenities closed during our stay and we were not informed of this before or after booking. The dining room, restaurant, dock, and breakfast were all not accessible. The continental breakfast advertised was packaged muffins. No reduction in price based on limited amenities.

The property is a bit run down but beautiful location, VERY noisy people (children) running around the upper floor until 1130 at night and started again at 5 am, poor noise buffer between floors. Staff seemed to suggest it was my problem, even though I only mentioned it when i checked out.

This hotel has recently changed ownership. The new owners are working on some upgrades but still seem to be working on starting up full operations. The restaurant and bar facilities were not operational ( we were there July 29). We had a car so we were able to go back into town, but other people were not so lucky. Continental breakfast was some individually wrapped mufffins, yogurts, juice boxes and one, single serving Kurig coffee machine. Staff claimed that the restaurant facilities would be opening on July 15. I would recommend checking before going. The only indication that the restaurants would not be opened were buried deep on the hotel website A resort like this without a restaurant or bar facilities was very disappointing.
