"I absolutely love Punta Gorda, i love the idea of being downtown. However it was very disappointing. They have done some updating but its not much. The hand railing in the shower was just hanging there. The ONLY MICROWAVE IN THE HOTEL WAS IN A DARK HALLWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOTEL. IT WAS NASTY. The linens were well dinghy and not clean. Luckily I had my own sheets and used them. Over all for what you pay to stay there you can stay in a really nice hotel anywhere. The old guy at the front desk with his long hair should not be working with the publuc. He is so slow its like going backwards. He looks like father time. The ONLY thing i did like was a young man who took his time yo help me out. He works there and he should be at the front desk. Oh and forget about watching t.v. you get maybe 15 channels and none of them good. N I cable, no satellite nothing. Its the free over the air type of tv. Yes most people dont watch tvbut ines like me thst are recovering from a spine surgery it would have been nice. So for the $87.00 a night gets u not much. There was a pool. But i would be afraid to use it. And use something to brighten up the dingy blanket. The A/C barely works so during the hot months you are out of luck. My advice, stay somewhere else. Any place woild be better.
The hotel would make a great place to film a scary movie then blow it up. "
