Love the shower! Loved the decor. Loved it for the most part. Only concern to me was the glass door doesn't lock,other than that everything was lovely.

Birdwatching

We very much enjoyed our stay. The rental was just as described and very convenient for the activities we had planned. We especially enjoyed the roomy shower and washer and dryer. The host was responsive to our inquiries, as well.

Great Getaway Home!

My husband and I did a quick weekend vacay and found this home online. It was the perfect place for us & had everything we needed and more! Having a full size fridge, a full bathroom, living room and kitchen was more than we are used to when traveling. So it was great and it was so well priced as well. We will more than likely be coming back!

This day overall was wonderful. The location was great. The only thing we was missing was a golf car

A beautiful experience location was beautiful not too far from the water. The only thing was, we wasn’t prepared for it not to have a go cart to get us around the community.

What an amazing stay and town!! Found this gem on the whim. Very reasonable price and the owner was fantastic to work with. Loved the house !! Can’t wait to go back !!! Such friendly people on the neighborhood ! Wake up early and go for a walk and hear the coyotes in a distance and see the beautiful sunrise! Wow what an amazing stay !!

It felt like I was borrowing my friends cottage

My husband and I had a lovely relaxing stay at LIV in Port Isabel. It was a relaxing time. We found the home was comfortable and provided everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed going for walks, using the indoor pool (it was cool during our stay so we couldn’t use the outdoor facility which looked lovely). The short drive into port Isabel for shopping was easy. A couple of days we drove over the big bridge to visit South Padre Island to see the gulf and beach and dunes. I will stress that this was a relaxing trip, the house wasn’t fancy but comfortable. There wasnt much to do there but we found that to be helpful in our attempt to do nothing! One of the places on the canal would have been nice to have a view .. no view from this place but that’s ok! The golf course is very small and we didn’t bring any clubs to try it out. Not sure how easy it would be been to book. Overall a nice place to stay.

Suited our needs

The place was what it stated in the add, but there is an extra fee for ammenities, and the stated fee is wrong. I talked to the office where you pay the fee, they told me the price increase was 2 years ago and they have never changed the ad. I tried to go thru VRBO and they would not help or refund the difference. I was also charged a fee at the office for using a credit card, and was not told that they were adding a credit card fee. I would've paid with a different method. There were plenty of things in the house to make it homey such as spices, small appliances and basic things necessary to make cooking easy. The contact person was VERY nice, easy to get ahold of and answered questions quickly!!

READ THE FINE PRINT

I want to first say the location was lovely and the house was as described. The communication with the host was good. The gated community was nice. HOWEVER, READ THE FINE PRINT! There is an very high pet fee (albeit poorly expressed in the listing). When paying on VRBO, there is a relatively expensive "Host fee", I don't know what this means, but it just make the nightly rate more expensive. This is an unnecessary tax to the renter. Also, when checking into the resort, you HAVE to pay another non-refundable fee to check into the property. Again, a taxing fee to the resort that is not easily seen when renting the property. (Please note, the rate was greater than listed in the VRBO listing. This is obscenely excessive cost in "VERY poorly disclosed" fees. So please be attentive before checking into this property to avoid unnecessary taxes. My girlfriend and I didn't even use the resort amenities so we didn't get to use any of those amenities which made those fees wasted money for us. I'm not mad about the fees because, technically, they were listed on the property but not well at all. And I should have been more attentive so I hope future renters will be as well.

My two teen daughters and I stayed at this location for 3 nights. We loved the peaceful little village. Everyone was friendly and the location was perfect.

Nice, but not the best.

This was a cute little home, but the furniture is quite outdated. The mattress in the bedroom is very soft and springy. My first night I slept in the bed and woke up incredibly sore. A couple of pillow cases smelled like body odor, so that was an unpleasant surprise. It made we worry about the cleanliness of the rest of the place. It looked clean at first glance, but after that surprise, I wasn't so sure how well the place is disinfected after each guest. My second night there, I decided to try the sleeper sofa. That experience was worse than sleeping on the actual bed. Needless to say, I did not sleep well at all during my stay here. If you have any back issues, I probably would not recommend this home, but it was charming. The kitchen has plenty of utensils, mix-matched cups and plates. Some spices and many small appliances. It's conveniently located close to the bridge that leads you to S. Padre island, but you also have to go over a small bridge to get to the community and it always seemed to be backed up due to boats crossing under and the bridge needing to be opened for them to pass through. You'll need to come with lots of patience in order to get in or out of the community as it takes a while for the bridge to be reopened once the boats have crossed. The amenities within the community were just okay. I'm not sure if the additional $80 entrance fee collected by the community itself is worth the cost. After paying that fee upon check-in, I decided to go see what I was paying for. The miniature golf course was so tiny and laughable really. It seemed to be designed for toddlers. The gym is small with a couple of treadmills, elliptical machines and bicycles. Maybe 6 or 7 machines altogether. The pools were nice, but full of kids who didn't adhere to the pool rules and parents who cared less to enforce them. There's also a library and laundry room. The golf course seemed to be the only thing that may be worth the cost, but I don't golf, so the fees felt like a waste. Even though I appreciated having a place to stay for the time I was in town, I'm certain I would explore other options next time I'm in town.
