Welcome to Getaway Gulf - it's always a great day to be at the beach!

Getaway Gulf is a big, bright beach house on the Bolivar Peninsula, set in the middle of the town of Crystal Beach on Mary Ann. It sleeps 24 in 6 bedrooms, with 12 beds and 4 full bathrooms, so a large family or a group of friends can stay together. The beach access is at the end of Mary Ann, a short walk or a quick drive from the house. Restaurants and stores are a short drive away. Mary Ann is a quiet street, and many of the neighbors live here year-round.

THE LIVING SPACE
The living area sits under a vaulted ceiling with a whole wall of windows, so the house is full of light. There is room for everyone to sit down together: 2 couches, a love seat and a pair of comfy chairs. Every bedroom, the living room and the upstairs commons has its own Roku smart TV, 7 in all. The Wi-Fi is Verizon service, measured at 75 Mbps. There is central air and heat, and ceiling fans.

THE BEDROOMS
- The master suite has a king bed and a private ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a double vanity.
- On the main floor, 2 more king rooms share a Hollywood-style bath. Each of those rooms has its own vanity, so only the toilet and the shower are shared.
- The bunk room has 2 full-over-full bunk beds, 4 full beds in all.
- Upstairs is its own floor behind a door at the top of the stairs: a commons with 4 queen beds and a table, and the 4th king room opening off it, under a slanted ceiling, sharing the upstairs bath. It is the natural spot for the kids, or for one family traveling together - the king room is reached through the commons.
The hall bath has the only tub in the house, a tub and shower combination. Every bed has sheets, pillows and a blanket or comforter, and bath towels are provided.

THE KITCHEN AND DINING
The kitchen is made for a large group. It has quartz counters, 2 full-size refrigerators, 2 pantries, a drip coffee maker, a single-cup pod coffee maker and a blender. The island seats 14, and 2 dining tables seat 12 more. That is 26 places to sit down, so all 24 guests can eat together. The full-size stackable washer and dryer are inside the house.

OUTSIDE
Out on the covered front deck, there is a table with 4 chairs, 3 tall-back chairs with cup holders, and 2 loungers. From the deck you have bay and Intracoastal Waterway views to one side and a sliver of ocean view to the other. The water is off in the distance, but it is a good view - you can watch the barges move along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Under the house is a gathering area with 3 tables and 13 chairs, a picnic table, a stack of extra plastic chairs under the stairs, a charcoal grill and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter.

PARKING
There is room for everyone's vehicles - the driveway, underneath the house, and the lot next door, with 15 spaces in all. Please keep the drive to our storage shed clear so we can get in and out. As you face the house from the street, that drive is at the far right. Please do not park on the street - it is narrow, and a parked car blocks traffic.

PETS, FAMILIES AND GATHERINGS
Adult pets are welcome with prior approval: up to 4 pets, at least 1 year old and house-broken. The covered deck is gated to keep the dog from accessing the stairs.
We furnish our houses for families - no glass on the coffee tables or the side tables. A pack 'n play is in the house, and a booster seat with a harness and a tray is provided.
Gatherings are welcome with prior approval, up to 45 people. The event count and the sleeping count are separate. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM.

DAY TRIPS
Day trip to Galveston on the free ferry - we have a little trick that gets you across in about half an hour instead of hours, and we'll share it once you're settled in.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
The house has a starter packet of coffee with filters, paper towels, toilet paper, bar soap and hand soap in each bathroom, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dishwasher pods, dish soap and trash bags. This is enough to get you started, not enough for a full week. For a longer stay or a larger group, plan on bringing more. We do not provide food, condiments or spices, or shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, so please bring your own.

BOOKING WITH US
There is no security deposit. We highly recommend travel insurance for your protection, and Cancel For Any Reason coverage gives the most protection if your plans change.
GETAWAY GULF HOUSE RULES
Welcome to Getaway Gulf. Please read these house rules before you arrive.

CHECK-IN AND CHECKOUT
Check-in is any time after 4:00 PM. Checkout is by 11:00 AM.
Check-in is contactless, with a lockbox by the entrance door. The door code will be sent just before check-in.
Early check-in and late check-out are not guaranteed.

THE GUEST WHO BOOKS
The guest who books must be 25 or older and stay for the entire reservation. The guest who books is responsible for their group and any visitors, and for all damage or issues during the stay.
Obnoxious behavior will result in immediate removal from property.

OCCUPANCY AND EVENTS
Getaway Gulf sleeps up to 24 guests overnight.
Gatherings are welcome with prior approval, up to 45 people - family reunions, weddings, birthdays and get-togethers. The event count and the sleeping count are separate, so an approved event can go past the number sleeping here.
We do not host prom, graduation, homecoming, or bachelor or bachelorette parties.

QUIET HOURS AND NEIGHBORS
Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM. No amplified outdoor music after quiet hours. At any hour, day or night, please keep the noise at a level that never carries to our neighbors or bothers them.

SMOKING
No smoking or vaping inside the home, and nowhere the smoke or vapor can drift back in - that means not on the covered deck and not near any door or window. Smoking is fine at ground level under the house, well away from the doors and windows. Please put butts in the outdoor trash. Any evidence of smoking or vaping inside the home, or anywhere the smoke or vapor reaches it, results in a $300 fee.

PETS
Adult pets are welcome with prior approval. No pets under a year old, and pets must be house-broken. Limit of 4 adult pets. Dogs of any size are welcome.
The pet fee is $100 per stay for up to 2 pets, plus $50 per pet per stay for a 3rd and 4th pet.
Please keep pets off all furniture and beds. Bring your own sheets or blankets to cover anything your pet will be on, and please do not use the house linens, towels or blankets for your pet.
Please pick up after your pet outside.
The covered deck is gated to keep the dog from accessing the stairs.
A $150 extra cleaning fee applies if the pet rules are not followed. Pets that were not disclosed bring additional fees.
Service animals are exempt from the pet fee. Emotional support animals pay the normal pet fee.

CHILDREN
Children must be supervised on the stairs and decks at all times.

PARKING
There is parking for up to 15 vehicles in the driveway, under the house and on the lot next door. A trailer takes the place of 1 vehicle. Boat trailers and campers need our approval before you arrive.
Please do not park on the street. The street is narrow, and a parked car blocks traffic.
Please keep the drive to our storage shed clear so we can get in and out. As you face the house from the street, that drive is at the far right.
There are no RV hookups, and electric vehicles may not be charged at the house. The downstairs outlets are GFCI-protected, and a car charger trips them, which shuts off the downstairs lights and outlets. If a vehicle is charged here, additional charges will apply.

GOLF CARTS
Golf carts cannot travel on or parallel to Highway 87.

THE HOUSE
Please leave the dehumidifier running at all times, including at checkout. It keeps the coastal humidity in check and protects the house - please don't switch it off, unplug it, or move it.
Please keep the thermostat at 68 degrees or higher for cooling and 75 degrees or lower for heating. The AC unit can freeze up if it is set lower.
Bath towels must stay inside the house, so please bring your own beach towels.
Please use the charcoal grill only at ground level under the house, and bring your own charcoal and lighter.

TRASH
Take all trash out to the outdoor cans. If you get there and the cans are already full, bring the tied bags back inside the house - never leave them outside, where critters will get into them.

DEPOSIT AND INSURANCE
There is no security deposit.
