The property and the service were amazing - we had some confusion during check-in about our "all inclusive" and when I asked Expedia, their representative was the worst who did nothing but make me feel like a fool; however, the front desk supervisor at Diamond Cliff rectified Expedia's representative's inappropriateness and made our stay amazing.

I am dumbfounded to how this hotel has a 5* rating. I stopped at the Andaman Beach Hotel for a few days prior to my stay at the Diamond Cliff Resort and considering that has a lower star rating; the hotel seemed somewhat better. The hotel has a pretty lobby but the rooms, pool and restaurant are all standard. There's nothing that screams 5* at all. The view of the ocean from the pool or the restaurant has an area inbetween of green painted rooftops which looks absolutely awful and ruins any photo prospects. Our room was situated quite far from the lobby/entrance and involved taking multiple inclined steps each time. I see why there's no gym onsite, as this was enough of a workout in itself. On our final day, we requested for luggage to be collected from the room while we had breakfast and for the checkout inspection to be carried out. Upon entering the reception area, our luggage has still not been collected and it was confirmed this had been forgotten. The checkout inspection was also missed and required us to wait 20-30mins before we could leave. This consequently ment we missed our onward ferry to our next destination. To summarise, the hotel is more suited to a low 4* and the amenities are very much standard. The staff are clueless and the rooms are very basic. The ocean view is hardly a picturesque view and I feel there's much better hotels for this particular price bracket within the vicinity. Dissatisfaction provided to reception.

Property is amazing and the pool area and facilities are spotless. Proximity to the beach and nightlife is perfect as well not too far to walk but still enough distance away. The one downside is the additional rates the hotel charges on arranging taxis etc which we think are extortionate…….we were quoted 4500Bht for a transfer to Krabi which we managed to source locally for 2700Bht.

It was very poor. Firstly it’s enormous and you need a random bus shuttle service to get around the place. Hardly reliable especially in the rain. But the biggest issue is they conceal a hideously restrictive policy on allowing visitors for solo travellers. They do not advertise this or inform you at check in. It’s deceptive and deliberately done to avoid losing bookings from male customers. Additionally the staff were unsympathetic and callous when a female friend who had travelled several hours to meet me was refused entry! That was outrageous. I felt like I was staying in a prison. I would never stay here again and if you’re a solo traveller avoid at all costs.

The hotel is on a cliff so everything is up and down multiple stairs. The room was very musty and moldy. I got a lung infection from staying there. Service was poor. Impossible to get towels or assistance.

The property was very nice and the pool was wonderful with a swim up bar. Rooms were clean and the staff was attentive to details. Within a mile of all the action in Patong. One negative was no AC available for breakfast eating spot and main lobby so it was a little hot.

Amazing hotel with beautiful rooms overlooking the bay. Beautiful sunsets from our room at the top of the resort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If you want to be in a quieter part of Patong but still close to lots of nightlife it’s a perfect location

Great for families and well-located

Diamond Cliff was great. So many well-thought out luxuries, such as a little fruit stand, beach bag, and to-go towels in reception. Breakfast buffet was very good, and the shuttle was nice because it is on a cliff. We liked the pools, including the little underwater jets to rent. The slide wasn't as exciting as it looked in the pictures, but great for little ones. The location was great. We weren't sure which beach to stay at, and went between Patong and Karon. We liked Patong's walkability and activities better. Kalim right nearby had a reef to snorkel and Patong down the hill had lots of activities and shopping. All the activities we booked had no trouble picking up from Diamond Cliff, and cabs knew where it was. Traffic is bad though, so if possible, pick activities that are near wherever you are staying, maybe doing river rafting from Patong and scuba from Karon. A negative is they seemed to run out of towels and we got pool towels in our room for a bit. It also wasn't set up for 4 when we arrived, even though our reservation was for 4. Out of our 5 hotels, Diamond Cliff is the one we definitely would book again.
