Hiding Gem Hotel in Brazil , Beautiful Historical Hotel with well trained staff. Specially thanks for property manager Roberta who gave us superb hospitality experience, Each suit has own design. Not very enchanting castly

Upon checkin I was a bit shocked when greeted with the most inhospitable staff. Very cold, never once welcoming. Check in was at 3pm. I asked if the room is ready earlier, they kept repeating checkin is at 3pm. I’m like can you see if any rooms are available? They didn’t bother to look. So since the hotel was basically shut down for a wedding, there was no where to relax so we had lunch nearby and just sat in a car for a few hours. Upon checkin, the rooms are tiny. Less than advertised. Tv was old and not a smart tv. The property itself which could be magical really feels like a truck stop attraction. There’s no spa here either. It’s a massage table on a terrace. I asked to use the jacuzzis. They said they were reserved for the next 4 hours. I saw 2/5 being used. Change of staff and the place could be really nice. Or at least teach them the basics.

It's not really a hotel, but a party venue

Biggest problem was noise. I booked the highest level of suite they had for 7 nights. However the room (top left of their cover photo) is very close to their main business activity which is events and parties. Just about every day was a party of one form or another. These parties go on until the early hours or all night. One graduation party started at mid-night and finished at 07:00. These are very loud and make sleep almost impossible. I understand that as a business they want to maximise revenue, however unless you are there just for one night and are attending the party, it's not a great place to stay - or at least not in the imperial suites.

The hotel was lovely but my room didn’t have any toiletries or hand towels what so ever tried to call room service but no answer and there was lots of noise from other guests partying hitting the door and walls

The castle is gorgeous but the rooms definitely reflect the age of the property. I stayed at the Suite da Torre (Tower suite) and it's one of the most interesting rooms I've ever stayed in with breathtaking views. The bathroom though has a constant sewage smell. The fist day we had left the windows ajar and door open and then in the next day the smell was nauseating. We had to keep the windows open to dissipate the smell. My sister also mentioned having the same smeel in her room. Staff was excellent and the grounds had several activities for kids and adults and also several options for dinning. The views of the grounds and surrounding are gorgeous. My niece had her wedding at the castle and it was like a fairy-tale.

O que era referencia em Petrópolis, se tornou um hotel mal acabado, com péssimo atendimento, quartos sujos, café da manhã deplorável. Já fiquei mais de 8x no hotel, e confesso, essa foi a última vez. Contra-indico aos usuários da Hotels.com, há outras opções na região, basta procurar. Literalmente, acabou o hotel.
