About this property
Taylor's Depot Cabin
Ladies and Gentlemen Serving Ladies and Gentlemen. Cozy log cabin on Fort Austin, a working farm. Incredible views from the center of Paonia's wine country. Perfect hub for day trips to Crested Butte, Black Canyon, Grand Mesa, Historic Marble, Aspen, Ouray, Gateway and Telluride. Hiking, fishing, biking, climbing, SUP trips, rafting, and art galleries are but a few of the activities our valley has to offer. Get cozy and settle into this rustic but tastefully designed space.
The cabin is located on 4 acres about a mile from town. The views are stunning from this small working farm. The property is a venue with deluxe apartments, glamping tents and cabins, 7 units in all. Bathroom service is provided in an old, repurposed grain bin that is less than 100ft away. It contains 2 full bathrooms, including showers. This cabin has a mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, and ceiling fan. WIFI is available, some devices can access the signal from the cabin which is a few hundred feet from the main house. But cabin guests are welcome to hang out on the porch at the main house to access WIFI if desired. Other guests may be encountered on the porch but it is huge, and deck furniture is clustered with plenty of distance to maintain personal space if desired.
The cabin has a gravel parking space within a few feet. Wineries are close enough to walk for guests wanting exercise. Some guests bring bicycles for local transportation.
Tim enjoys interacting with guests but respects their space if privacy, peace and quiet are what they are looking for. Guests are invited to hang out on the huge log porch at the main lodge. Tim often enjoys coffee in the morning or a cold beer in the evening out on the porch where the stunning mountain views are addicting. Bring cigars, cognac, or beer and sit a spell. Great conversation, fun stories, respect, peace, kindness, acceptance and laughs are but a few things you will find interacting with Tim.

I loved this space. But, from my experience, you got to find it first. I believe Tim has made people aware now, but Paonia is a Verizon dead spot. If you have Verizon, prepare for your phone not working at all. Beyond that, this place is great, I would have given five stars if I had been better prepared to find it. Beautiful spot, an oasis in a desert. Cabin very comfortable in evenings, swamp cooler worked very well. Everything clean and comfortable.

Perfect get away in Paonia.
Five-Star Stay in a Perfect Mountain RetreatOur stay at this charming cabin in Paonia was nothing short of magical. Nestled in a quiet and rustic setting, the property offers breathtaking, soaring views of the surrounding mountain peaks—a view you’ll never tire of. A beautiful river runs just steps away, providing the perfect soundtrack to mornings on the porch and evenings by the fire. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and full of character, blending comfort with an authentic rustic feel. We were amazed by how conveniently located it was—just a five-minute drive to local wineries, farm-to-table restaurants, and quaint farm stands. It truly offers the best of both worlds: peaceful seclusion and easy access to everything Paonia has to offer. This place was everything we hoped for and more. A perfect mountain escape that we will never forget. Thank you for sharing such a special property with us

Hidden Gem!
Tim's place is fantastic!! After a long day of travel and adventure we found Taylor's depot easily. The pictures DO NOT do this place justice!! This was our favorite stay of our entire Colorado Road Trip. The cabin was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable - the best sleep by far! The bathrooms inside of the grain bin left me completely shocked, I had no idea from the photos how well this was constructed and how beautifully done it was.
The property was just breathtaking and deserves every single star available. I wish we were there a bit earlier to enjoy longer! Just as an FYI if you're traveling in the area most establishments close at 9pm.
Thank you again Tim for hosting us, hopefully one day we are back in the area.

Fort Austin Colorado was a great stay
Innovative and attractive, these small cabins and the surrounding five acres were perfect for our three-day stay. And Tim was a wonderful and helpful "landlord", guiding us to fantastic drives and hikes. Moreover, the nearby town of Paonia was a great discovery. Thanks, Tim!

Fantastic get away!
The cabin was modern (newly built real log cabin), and very comfortable with high quality bedding and furniture. I enjoyed the views, the night sky, the neighboring wineries and a bonfire in the evenings. Tim, the host, and his dog, PJ, enhanced the experience as well! Great stay and I’ll definitely return again!

Great Ling Weekend in Paonia
Beautiful simple but well appointed cabins- everything you need- wine opener, lantern for going to the very nice bath house, mini fridge, coffee and coffee maker. Tim was so kind and PJ the dog is super friendly. Loved the chickens too! We enjoyed live music nightly, great restaurants (303, Nido,Big B’s), hiking and driving to Black Canyon.

Kick Back and Relax
Everything about this stay was perfect— we had a full itinerary most days and coming back to our cozy cabin was definitely the wind-down we needed. The views around the property were beautiful! Tim was an excellent host and gave us some great recommendations in the area.

Perfect place to get away and relax
We enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit area and watching the sunset our first night there. Our cabin was very comfy even though it was quite warm. We took day trips to Crawford State Park and Paonia State Reservoir where we enjoyed a little SUP time.
Verizon cell service doesn’t pick up signal from Carbondale down or Crested Butte so be sure to get directions or send messages far out. We did have great WiFi in the cabin so we could check messages etc.
The cabins are well spaced so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We will be back!
