It is best for travelers who want nature, local color, and time to settle into the east side rather than a resort strip.



Getting Around:

Hilo International Airport is about 30 minutes away, making for a relaxed drive through the Puna countryside. A rental car is essential here, as Pahoa's beaches, shops, and dining are spread across the district. The small town center offers a few walkable blocks of local shops and eateries. Parking is easy and typically available on site or along the street near most homes.
