The Sandcastle at Haystack Rock - Oceanfront Gem

Wake up to the sound of waves at this stunning custom beachfront home in Pacific City. Set directly on the sand, it offers unobstructed Pacific Ocean and iconic Haystack Rock views through dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass. Designed by Organic Architect Robert Harvey Oschatz, the home’s striking lines and angles fill every space with natural light, creating a calm and unforgettable atmosphere throughout.

More than a house, this is an experience — one felt in slow mornings with coffee overlooking the water, shared meals around the table, and long golden evenings with wine at sunset. Thoughtfully designed for connection and comfort, it’s a home made for meaningful time together and one that quickly becomes a favorite coastal retreat.

This oceanfront escape features 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and 7 beds, comfortably sleeping 10. The living room is truly the heart of the home — a wall of windows framing sweeping coastal views. Open the doors and step directly onto the sand, or relax with your favorite drink while watching the waves roll in and the kids play just outside.

The lower level is a true kids’ haven, complete with double bunk beds, a private full bathroom, and its own TV/lounge area — perfect for movie nights after full beach days. Upstairs, warm wood finishes, heated floors, and inviting gathering spaces make it easy to cook, dine, and spend meaningful time together.

Every west-facing window captures the rhythm and beauty of the Oregon coast — from soft morning light over the dunes to breathtaking sunsets that close each day.

Come for the ocean air, stay for the memories, and leave already planning your return.

What a spectacular view! The home is exactly as pictured. Right on the beach! And there is room to enjoy the views outside from the patio area on either side and right in front of the windows. The living room space is lovely. We weee a group with grandparents, parents and teens. There is ample seating for all! We especially enjoyed the blue circular “nest” as we called it for the World Cup Games. Kitchen was well appointed. Found everything we needed. The beds were plush and very comfortable, even the bunk beds. The sleeping masks and robes are a nice touch. It’s very bright in the morning. The house is welcoming and comfortable. The outdoor patio area is fantastic in the morning- bright and sunny and not windy at all. Great spot to read and listen to the ocean. My only feedback is the living room windows - they are the star of the show and could use a good cleaning on the inside. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We would definitely stay here again.
