Carissa was amazing and very helpful. She was the front desk manager in the evening. And was very helpful and kind. Unfortunately, the front desk morning staff was not as friendly and helpful.

The carpet was a little bit old and needed to get cleaned. The beds were super comfy! The hotel is super quiet and has a peaceful atmosphere. The pool was very clean. The gym was very nice. There was ample parking. And we were five minutes from Starved rock.

Room was clean and staff was courteous. If you're a light sleeper, request not to have a room by the grand stair case. It can get noisy from the bar downstairs.

It was an ok experience. I’m not overwhelmed or underwhelmed by the experience. I did not care for the chlorine smell in the shower or the number of kids running up and down the halls (3rd flooor). Would I patronize this establishment again? I’m not opposed to it.

Children were running the place, I saw no one working who was in their 30, not even close. Things were not open on time and closed early, it seemed like a high school student was the one who was making all the decisions. Crazy

There are no amenities available during my stay, which isn’t mentioned when booking. When I brushed my teeth, I rinsed my mouth with the water and even though I didn’t swallow it had a chemical taste which upset my stomach later in the day. Staff is friendly though and professional.

We went for the water park. We had about 2 hours in the morning to spend there and the majority of the pool was closed due to a filter issue.

The staff at the Grand Bear Resort informed me that the water park, fitness center and bar/restaurant services were closed until the weekend. This was not disclosed on your website! She also informed me that the cost of the room was $92 that evening however I paid $121 via your website service. I found all of this unacceptable. I am extremely unhappy and would appreciate a refund for the difference. There also should be an update in your website regarding so others do not fall prey to this unfortunate issue. EVERYTHING WAS WRONG, would like a refund. This place shouldn’t be open in the “off season” Staff was completely unhelpful. Person checking us in was paying more attention to the football game and his friend than checking us in. Later in the day, we forgot our room keys and went to the front desk to ask for a key- the person there didn’t even ask my name or for an ID, just gave us a room key (hi, major security issue there). Only one place to get food and I’ve never had a worse meal in my life- we were the only people in the restaurant and it took close to an hour for our food. The food was basically inedible (rotten lettuce, rock hard pita bread, chicken so salty I couldn’t eat it), mushy French fries, some weird mystery substance on my husbands burger, every drink we tried to order was “sold out”, food made my child double over in pain. Water in the water park was frigid. Tried to get coffee in the morning (no on site breakfast in the “off season”) and the coffee dispensers didn’t have pumps to get the coffee out so my husband was told to just try pouring from the coffee urn into a cup which spilled all over. Thin sheets for blankets. The absolute worst. Close the place down in the off season if you’re going to treat people like this.

Room was nice but the restaurant didn’t have the food on the menu had to leave and go out for dinner. Went to breakfast next morning and it wasn’t ready because of staff issues once again left and went out for breakfast elsewhere. Bar was closed in a Saturday because of staff issue. Movie night was also cancelled. We were so disappointed with staff not seeming to care about our complaints. Would not recommend this hotel/resort at all !!!!

The check in desk was very nice . The room was nice and spacious but the bathroom was very small. The tv was small and had a very limited selection with no ability to stream any apps on the tv. The restaurant, jacks place had an extremely limited menu and the quality was lacking. The food was fresh but flavorless and bland
